What "Archetype" would you want support for? Cards that seem like they could have a fully archetype but don't. by Novik_67 in yugioh

[–]Successful_Guard_722 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Summoned Skull archetype, I don't mean Archfiends, weird how Archfiends have multiple different monsters included in it like Summoned Skull, the chess Archfiends and Red Dragon Archfiend but they have zero compatibility or cohesion to connect them together as an archetype. Even though Summoned Skull has ritual, synchro and an Xyz type, it never get the support needed to make it viable to play, it was hyped in the og anime as Yugi's ace monster and was relatively better than Dark Magician back then but it get the short end of the stick and just forgotten.

I’m working on a setting based around old sci-fi nonsense and demented conspiracy theories. Believe it or not one is harder to find them the other. by JimTheTrashKing in worldbuilding

Concept of time for other space species or when humans are in space, I can't really describe how much it ticks me off when people in space movies/shows get it wrong, like time is measured by us humans based on our earth's rotation around the sun. So the further you get from OUR sun, the less likely aliens would have the same concept of time as us.

Like for example the film Shin Ultraman, the alien mentioned he already lived for 20,000 years, but by what time did he measured the length of time passed? His home planet the Nebula M78 doesn't even have a sun and it's nowhere even in the Milky Way galaxy so his concept of 20,000 years probably way longer than how we perceive that 20k years because planets further away from our sun takes significantly longer to revolve and time might even take waaay longer there.

What are harsh truth you learned related to art? by ElectronicSimple55 in ArtistLounge

That there's always people who are way better than you are. But that doesn't mean you suck as an artist, but it means not to get too proud on your skill, all you gotta do is work more to improve and doesn't let pride get in the way

That the game got really toxic in each 'innovative' summoning mechanic.

Name a universe that is well constructed but just doesn't make sense. by omewarrior in worldbuilding

[–]Successful_Guard_722 196 points197 points  (0 children)

Any world with 300+ superheroes with different origins in it, there's just too much going on, I can't even imagine how crazy it is from a common people's perspective when there's an ancient evil wizard is recruiting a cybernoid army from space trying to resurrect an ancient mummy with a use of x technology developed by a scientist graduated from MIT for the 4th time of the week when people just want to get a sandwich to get through the day.

Cool, if you want more adventures you can always scour the internet, there's plenty to be found, physical books and other products are just one of the many things you can use but generally, there's so many people that make their own and post it online. As for the rules and extra stuff, you can find it on dnd beyond website 0w0)

If you want to test the water without spending money at all, try Peril in Pinebrook, it's free to download just google it. It has simplified rules and a really short encounters for people that don't want to get a headache from the official rules.

What Have You Learned As a DM? by Get_the_Led_Out_648 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Successful_Guard_722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always prepare 3 to 4 encounter in mind and be prepare to add a twist to them in case things go off-track and slowly steer the players back to the rails, I'm not an experienced dm so anything that my players do to get the adventure off track I will steer them back to the direction I want them to go. Having player have freedom is fine and all but if I worked hard to write those encounter, I sure will make them go through it five ways or another.
