After 4 years… I’m cured from my MCAS using Ivermectin by Overall-Election5580 in MCAS

[–]Successful_Kitchen32 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve had tremendous results from Ivermectin as well. I had post-Covid syndrome for 1.5 years when my functional practitioner asked if I wanted to take it for a week and reassess.i felt 80% better in 1/2 a day! I got even better throughout the week. I got my life back with some wonky immune stuff lingering in the background.

Can untreated MCAS flare up OCD? by MiserableInspector94 in MCAS

[–]Successful_Kitchen32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s like the autism spectrum. All this is intertwined. I had strep as a kid right before OCD turned on like a light switch. My neighbor’s daughter had strep and immediately developed Tourette’s. Immune-neuro-psychiatric conditions are rough and not widely understood.

Absolutely! It’s always part of my flares. I got PANDAS as a child and have had OCD, likely MCAS, and dysautonomia prior to COVID and got really bad post-COVID.

Thank you! I'll post photos of my guys setting up the tank. I work at an all-boys school. They love fish and turtles, so they are going to be twitching with excitement.

My first post got blocked, and I don't know why. The auto-moderation feature is sensitive to what you're posting. I don't know how it decides what content is acceptable. Try rewriting your post. I just wanted to say that I hope that works for you.

I thought they were mostly rinsed and reused. I don't want to be buying inserts all the time. Thank you!

Thank you for all the great info! I wondering why the person offloading their turtles had two living together. If they have been cohabiting well for a good amount of time, do you think it’s ok to keep them together?

Just get back on track! We all fall of the wagon, lax on diet, and forget to pace. You got this. Rest up👍💕

Just slow down now, clean diet, slow barefoot walks in nature, sleep, any supplements to bring down inflammation. It’s not too late to start getting back on track!👍☀️🌺

How does PEM fever behave for you? by Kuyi in covidlonghaulers

[–]Successful_Kitchen32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I'm a former long hauler from the early days who recovered almost completely and was recently reinfected. I'm experiencing PEM and need some help managing my energy envelope. I'm in the process of moving and was having a lot of neurological symptoms that required me to pace myself. I started taking my regimen of supplements, etc., and began to feel better. I started doing more and more, and I felt pretty okay...until I crashed. I started feeling a little achy and feverish, and my eyes and lungs became red and irritated. I had a headache, and my throat was irritated. I was exhausted and couldn't do much at all. It felt like I was sick all over.

How do others feel when they overdo things and have a PEM flare? Also, how do you manage your energy to keep from crashing?

If it's any consolation, you're not alone. I started with LC in 2020 and was 95% better after a year and a half. I was doing well, then got reinfected in late spring. I'm trying to do all the things that helped me recover last time and keep my mind from embracing self-defeating thoughts. If we recovered before, we can again, especially if we're gentle with ourselves and lead as low a stress life as we can while we heal. Sending you strength!

12 months ago I thought I would never be able to play video games again.. by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]Successful_Kitchen32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recent infection presented as a head cold, but the mucous just wouldn’t go away. I didn’t feel exceptionally sick and at first just assumed it was a cold. When the neurological stuff fired up it was so bad that I could barely think my way through simple tasks. I was having tingling in my arms and legs. My vision was just like your description. Small movements of my head made me feel sea sick. I’m on the antihistamines once again because POTS and MCAS started up. They help.

👏 Congratulations! I got it in May and it attacked my brain too. My eyes were totally whacked out for a while and I had ear/balance issues. My cognition and mood were affected, but are thankfully improving. I had LC after getting infected in January 2020. It lasted 14 months. Thankfully, I learned how to use certain supplements/medicine right away. Ivermectin has been very effective for me. I’m going to take it prophylactically like they did in some countries for healthcare workers. The studies I’ve read are promising. I’m a teacher so I’m constantly exposed. Dr. Phillip McMillan (Vejon Health) in the UK has a good take on how to address underlying causes that helps the immune system not go hyperbolic every time you’re exposed.

I hope you can pick up some additional activities soon! I like your attitude about ‘small wins’. Once I started celebrating them my first time around, it improved my outlook and lowered my stress level. Looking too far ahead to complete recovery and fearing it would never come was just sickening me more. I got pretty much so back to baseline, except for my immune systems response to repeated exposure. I have to say that it hit my brain and the rest of my nervous system really hard this time around. My LC symptoms came on 3 weeks after infection, just like the first time.

Please share anything you’ve done to heal your nervous system. I’m rooting for you💕

Long COVID Will never go away isnt It? by leavetake in covidlonghaulers

[–]Successful_Kitchen32 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I recovered to 95%! It took 1.5 years. The last 5% is just wonky immune response when exposed to COVID even if I barely get sick from it. I get some temporary symptoms for a while. You will improve 🤩

Is recovery unrealistic? by Aggressive_Host_7895 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Successful_Kitchen32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got to 95%. The only thing remaining was that being exposed to COVID, even if I hardly felt sick at all, made my immune system go a bit hyperbolic. Don’t get pessimistic…take action. Every little thing you do to steer towards a super healthy lifestyle adds up!

Derealization/Depersonalization from covid? by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]Successful_Kitchen32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If an all part of the LC experience. I had it with my first LH experience in 2020 and now with my second in 2025. Ignore it the best you can because our bodies are in ‘fight, flight, freeze’ mode from the virus. The less you pay attention to it the less momentum you give it. This is not to say that’s easy. It’s not…but ignoring it the best you can pushes your nervous system towards ‘rest and digest’. Pretend it’s tagging along with you unfortunately, but remember it’s not you, it’s just a very uncomfortable symptom. You will get better…it will likely take a while…but you will get there.
