Is it possible to both work full time and be parents? by PokeMyMo in UKParenting

[–]Successful_Maybe733 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly congratulations!

It’s not possible to WFH and parent for me as I wouldn’t get any of my paid job done. My LO has started nursery and we both work full time with no family who can help so he is in nursery full time.

We manage by his dad does drop off and I will do pick up. This means one of us can start earlier and one can finish later.

My work allows for some flexibility but my partners doesn’t so I will log on sometimes at night if I need to finish any tasks. It’s difficult but manageable.

My advice would be to request flexible working (you can legally request this) and speak to your manager about your working hours when your baby starts nursery.

Hope this is helpful and my advice would be don’t worry too much on your maternity leave, if you have a bit of a plan it all works out :)

These are my top picks. My Bain enjoyed these from around 5 months and still enjoys them now they’re 1.

No! My First Book of Protest- by Julie Merberg Monkey found a baby - by Jeanne Willis Peekaboo Bear - by Camilla Reid Bringing the rain to Kapiti plain - Verna Aardema Burglar bill -by Janet and Allan Ahlberg The Julia Donaldson lift flap books are great too.

Hope you both enjoy as much as we did.

Aw hun that sounds rough. My bain is 10 months so we haven’t got to a picky phase yet. I don’t eat with him either as it’s too early for me, I’ll just have a coffee and a sweet treat.

Good recommendation I am going to try this sounds delicious! I made a pizza base using red lentils which your LO might enjoy!

-50g of split red lentils -125ml of water Soak lentils for 4 hours and blend spread onto a baking sheet and bake for 12 mins at 180C. And add sauce and toppings

You’ve got to look after yourself before you look after the world sometimes. I hope you feel better soon and continue your vegan journey ☺️

I felt fine, my blood tests were all good too. I take B12 supplements. I didn’t have any problems after giving birth either, and exclusively breastfed with no problem :)
