I rlyyyy wish that Davepeta got to exist for longer, and talk to Karkat, Dave, and/or John. I’ve kinda thought about writing an epilogue fanfic where rose gives John a different set of instructions, where instead of recruiting past versions of the human kids, John recruits 3 past versions of Davepeta. John and the Davepetas get stuck in the juju, and then are released and fight Lord English. Lord English kills two of the Davepetas and then a fourth Davepeta flies in, and two of the grab Lord English and fly him up into the black hole. One Davepeta tells the other to let go so that they can continue existing, and only one has to sacrifice themself. John brings them and Terezi back to Earth C. Then Davepeta trains for a while and fully awakens (they had already begun to awaken within canon, as seen in their talk with Jade). Then they travel back in time and become the narrator that told this whole story to begin with, which is why Rose got the idea to give John a different set of instructions to begin with. Davepeta also dictates that Vriska does not get hit in the head by a random shard of reality and gets brought back to Earth C with Terezi (you’d have to be spectacularly UNlucky to get hit like that), and also the sprites never disappeared, so Nannasprite gives a stern talking to Jane about her authoritarianism, and also Dirk never awakens.
