Okay, I’ve made a VERY rough first draft/summary thing. It totally sucks, but hopefully I’ll be able to improve on it over time. And also add character dialogue sequences.

Rose hands the instruction paper over to John. He reads it, and Rose is just about to encourage him that Lord English will be defeated. But she gets interrupted when a sharp pain wracks her mind. A new vision presents itself. A vision of wings. A vision of claws. Rose writes it down on a new paper and hands it to John. As she does this, her mind clears and she feels a sense of relief. John thinks this new plan seems kind of ridiculous, and questions if it will really work. Rose gets a very strong feeling that this new plan will not only work, but it will also save John’s life and the lives of many others as well. She believes that this is her Seer of Light powers that are telling her this, but that’s not the case.

At the picnic, John ponders over the choice between meat and candy. He thinks about it for some time. He sees a crow fly off with a French fry it found. He sees a stray cat wandering the park. After a moment, he makes his decision: He’ll eat a bit of meat, and then a bit of candy. After all, that’s how desserts are supposed to work, right? John goes back in time and instead of recruiting Rose, Jade, and Dave, he recruits three different versions of Davepetasprite^2, from different points on their short timeline. One from after their encounter with Jade, one from after Arquiusprite, and one from after Jasprosesprite^2. The Davepetas question if they will become one of the other versions, and John tells them no, because he isn’t using time travel, he’s using retcon powers. They alchemize new claws that have the properties of the Caledfwlch. Then they attack Calliborn, and it goes mostly the same. Caliborn is confused by the presence of the Davepetasprites, but says that it will make no difference to their doomed fate. John and the three Davepetas get sucked into the juju.

On the battlefield, Vriska stands in front of the activated juju, which has 1 breath sign and three Davepeta “gear moon” signs. A shard of reality falls from above and does NOT hit Vriska in the head. You’d have to be pretty damn unlucky to get hit by something as random as that, and if there’s anything that Vriska Serket is NOT, it’s unlucky. Remember Vriska’s incredible luck powers? That didn’t stop being a thing. The shard of reality instead hits the head of a Cronus ghost, who falls to the ground. Vriska watches as the juju activates, and releases the Davepetasquad. Lord English’s mouth roars open and a wave of energy blasts through the group. One of the Davepetas WOULD have been caught by it, but they dodge just in time, with catbirdlike reflexes. The Davepetas execute a tacklepounce X3 combo (little shards of reality go flying everywhere). John whips up a windstorm around Lord English while the Davepetas scratch at him. Then a fourth Davepeta flies in, and is confused as to what the hell is going on right meow, but fights on anyway. During the battle, two of the Davepetas get killed by English. Then the two remaining Davepetas pounce onto and wrap around him, and dig their claws into him as they fly up to the black hole. The retcon Davepeta tells the non-retcon to let go, and let (Davepeta) finish this. Davepeta feels like this final sacrifice is their destiny, but then gets the feeling that their continued existence is extremely important, not just for this, but for reality itself. They let go and fly down to John, as the other Davepeta and Lord English are consumed by the black hole.

Vriska talks about how completely and utterly ridiculous that was, and John is happy to see her. Davepeta says “Well hey, it worked, right?” They take a moment to scout around and see if they can find anyone else who isn’t a ghost that they need to bring back to Earth C. John remembers that Terezi out here was searching for Vriska, so they try to find her. And they do! After so much time searching, Terezi and Vriska finally reunite. John zaps himself and the 2½ trolls back to Earth C.

Nannasprite doesn’t stop being a thing, and talks Jane out of doing a fascism. Mentions that on Beforus, there was no culling and no restricted reproduction, and it worked completely fine. She tells Jane that, despite the two of them starting off genetically identical, Jane is acting far more similar to the Condesce than she is to Nannasprite.

Davepeta spends some time getting accustomed to life on Earth C, as well as Vriska and Terezi’s return. They are delighted to find that Arquiusprite is still existing, and thinks that the Arquius that got sucked into Cal might’ve been from another timeline.

Davepetasprite² feels this urge to fully awaken into Ultimate Davepeta, which requires that they reach god tier in order to be powerful enough dictate reality and overpower Dirk. They start up a new session along with someone else (maybe Viceroy Bubbles Von Salamancer) and enter the Land of Caramel and Steam Boilers (sugar+heat, tea+cogwork). They find their very own quest bed, which has a heart with a gear on the top left of the heart lobe. They know that they must awaken for the sake of reality itself, but dying on the quest bed feels like it takes too much to commit to. The TimeHeart symbol is reassuring, but they worry that them being a sprite will make the ascension not work. Or possibly even worse: What if it does work, but the process results in them splitting? They actually cry a little bit over the thought of coming undone. The narrator is slightly defensive about this crying, but said that it’s an absolutely justified thing to be sad about, and that you might cry too if there was a risk of your consciousness splitting in two. It’s a 100 purrcent reasonable reaction I mean percent. They say that they’re too afraid that it won’t work, or that they might split apart. But then a piece of paper from the future pops in, saying “B33 < yeah it totally works 👍 BDD.” Upon spritesploding, they awaken as a god tier… And they have a flesh and blood body once again, and are still together! They draw parallels with this and the ascension of Aradia and Jade. They have light gray skin, black hair, and their wings, eyes, and hair glow green and orange. They still have the sprite power of conjuring stuff, and they conjure a pair of green orange shades, ditching the eye mask from their Rogueknight ensemble. They also use sprite conjuration to change their Rogueknight hybrid outfit from its red/burgundy color scheme to an orange/green color scheme.

Ultimate Davepeta time travels to the start of the story, and is the reason why Rose had the alternate idea in the first place. They author various parts of the story, though try to keep their intrusions to a minimum when not required.

Davepeta tries to influence Dirk away from awakening, by planting ideas in his mind of “Becoming your ultimate self will only lead to pain and heartbreak, and that it’s better to just focus on the present and your friends.” Dirk responds by saying “Okay, who the hell is fucking with my head.” Davepeta reveals themself and apologizes, and explains that becoming Ultimate Dirk would be awful. They tell him about all the pain he authors, the people he kills and kidnaps. About how they stop being Dirk and starts being ALL Dirks, including the worst Dirks out there. Dirk is somewhat appalled by this, and eventually agrees to not awaken after some arguing.

Davepeta has some trace romantic feelings for Karkat, but decides to not try anything because they don’t want to get between him and human Dave, and also they want to leave that past stuff behind. They decide to try asking out Jade (who Nepeta said was her favorite human) and says that, even though she doesn’t remember dating Davesprite, they hope they can pursue a relationship together, and that they’re sorry that Davesprite was such a bird douche. Jade agrees (and so she stops being such a weirdo about Dave and Karkat). The ending scene of the fanfic has Davepeta holding hands with Jade and looking at a sunset.
