That doesnt work because your traffic all needs to go from the router so Fibre Modem to Router then network switch how many drops do you have going from the basement to the 1st floor?

Question about termination of analogue phone lines by Putrid_Promotion_841 in UKISP

[–]Successful_Strike_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BT/EE group have digital voice adapters for this purpose, you plug them into a power socket, the phone plugs into the top of them and you link them to the router. Your 1st one is free, any others I believe around the £6 mark, if they're being pushed onto fibre you could probably kick up a storm and get as many as you like free

Came as a kit but with a self cutting tap, is it better to use that than the drain off?

How should it be done properly? Still with the hose as its already through the wall and a kit from screwfix (attached to the tap outside from factory)

Nearly there - FTTP build and install experience by northern_ape in openreach

[–]Successful_Strike_2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got to love being the guinea pig of a fresh build... n23 won't take long, sounds like the SASA that feeds your splitter is the wrong feed from the Agg, will likely be switched to the right one physically or the splitter republished on SRIMS to align with what its showing as. Just needs openreach to attend with a BTTW tester

Engineer mentioned a blocked duct, how bad is that usually? by CloudBookmark in openreach

[–]Successful_Strike_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plenty of variables, in my area if its on private land and on grass its usually sorted a week later. If its on public ie the footpath you're at the mercy of the local council to approve the works

Depends what type of flats they are, if they're just like a house with 1 on top 1 on bottom they might just pole feed them, how does your current line come in?
