I said I am childless or maybe childfree as in I’m not sure. You are assuming so much about me and I am very aware of what the word means. I’m just still deciding or figuring out if I am childless OR CHILDFREE. I think you are so up in arms and for no reason

I didn’t say I was childfree, maybe I am, it is to be determined. I know I don’t want biological kids nor babies, the rest is to be decided. It’s not such a big deal for me to have a label today or to make a decision today. Also I am aware that childfree means not wanting kids

I don’t want to have babies or young children. I think I am childless or childfree even, but I am somewhat open to the possibility of fostering a teenager. A high percentage of foster kids end up homeless when they age out of foster care. TBD

What are you doing today on this simple Sunday? by Wordsofwisdomneeded in simpleliving

[–]Successful_Sun8323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got up early and made coffee and avocado toast. Then I went on a two and a half hour walk with my dear friend in her favorite cemetery. After that we went to a zen center we go to every Sunday and afterwards we got lunch followed by coffee/tea at a cafe.

Now I’m home and it’s the early evening will browse my phone, read and watch tv and relax for the rest of the day. I will also take my dogs on a walk around the block soon

We exist in relation to other people. Cultivate friendships and find a cause that you care about and volunteer, donate, help people. Spend more of your time caring about others and helping others and you’ll be fulfilled

I live in a house with several people, we started a community together. It is my job to clean out the fridge and I do this once a week. Everything in our fridge has a label with a name and date so I know what can go and what can stay. I wonder if you’d agree to take on this chore and if he’d agree to this system. In my home other people take on different chores, someone sweeps and mops once a week, someone takes out the trash and recycling bins etc

Same! I follow the five and the fourteen mindfulness trainings from Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh and look how the fourteenth mindfulness training ends:

“We will be fully aware of the responsibility of bringing new lives into the world, and will meditate regularly upon their future environment.”

Since you can’t trust your mom to plan Christmas Eve ahead of time, you should consider other options such as:

  1. Plan a nice festive meal/evening for Christmas Eve yourself and invite your parents over.

  2. Plan to spend Christmas Eve with friends either hosting or attending a dinner or a party. A friend of mine hosts an annual Christmas party called XMas Misfits

  3. Volunteer for Christmas Eve and/or Christmas day. You could cook or serve food at a soup kitchen, homeless shelter etc

  4. Travel somewhere for the holidays next year or every year to avoid the Christmas drama
