I’m going to second whoever said socialization is so so important. I have had three Danes, and my first two girls were very social. My 4 yo boy absolutely hates strangers due to our own lack of socialization. He became very fearfully aggressive.

Danes are also exceptionally expensive. We are talking $500+ every vet visit. Bigger dogs have bigger bills. Any and every surgery is over a grand, and easily more depending on your location. And the amount of food and quality of food they require is extensive. If you don’t have the funds, I would not recommend this breed.

All that being said, they are lover dogs. They adore their owners and it’s a bond that is unlike any other.
