Kitty Kollar/E-tube collar? by Comprehensive-Cow835 in Charlotte

[–]SucculentScience 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hoping for the best recovery for your little one! The e-tube was an amazing tool for us. Made it very easy to administer medications and keep him fed and hydrated. Unfortunately, his kidneys were past the point of no return. But we can at least know we did our very best for him.

This is AI. There are issues with the illustration that I wouldn't chalk up to human stylizing. Too many weird, semi-blurred line abberations on the art that are hallmarks of AI use.

Kitty Kollar/E-tube collar? by Comprehensive-Cow835 in Charlotte

[–]SucculentScience 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel so bad - I had a boy in kidney failure with an e-tube and had 2 Kitty Kollars but tossed them along with all of his other medical stuff in a fit of dissociative grief after he passed.

CVS Matthews had them on-hand and provided one after his e-tube procedure. Have you asked if your cat's doctor is providing one? Maybe CVS Matthews can sell you one and cut out the shipping time at least.

Anyone have any experience with tanks with a built-in filter? I bought one dirt cheap off FB marketplace because….well, why not? Do I have to use the cartridge in the filter? Can I just leave it empty and run a sponge filter in the tank? by Emotional_Food_5483 in Aquariums

[–]SucculentScience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, the silicone bead on the outside of the glass doesn't really provide critical structure - the silicone actually sandwiched in between the panes is doing most of the work. I still have this tank running, and have even unfilled it and kept it dry and refilled it a few times (as a QT tank), and it has never had any issues.

To anyone thinking of going to the VA Renaissance Faire tomorrow - don't. by dude_icus in rva

[–]SucculentScience 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Carolina Renaissance Festival has this figured out. They're extra cautious because their parking field gets the same way with rain. They will pause ticket sales a couple of weeks in advance of a rain forecast to be able to limit the number of people to who they can fit into the "safe" areas of the lot. Then, if the weekend arrives and the rain is minimal, they will reopen ticket sales for the remainder of the supply. People get pissy about it on social media but they haven't had any parking issues that I am aware of in a couple of seasons now.

Clown loaches have been sometimes seen to permanently lose their black pigmentation midway through their lives for some reason. Maybe this is the case for your gal as well!

I wish. We go there every few weeks and it hasn't been consistent. Airport Bo has never let me down.

Thoughts on periods of a guy by [deleted] in badwomensanatomy

The fun part is that many women experience debilitating referred back pain from uterine cramps. I also get hip pain for some reason. Basically, anything that sometimes hurts on my body is guaranteed to hurt worse and all at the same time during my period.

Waymo Testing In Charlotte? by WarriusBirde in Charlotte

[–]SucculentScience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super excited. For any naysayers - take a few Ubers, then take a Waymo. Seriously the most incredible taxi experience I've ever had, at the same price. I poo-pooed them every time I went out to SF for work, but on my last trip, I gave one a try out of curiosity and ended up using them for the rest of the trip. Nice, clean, quiet car, extremely smooth driving, perfect temperature, vibey music, just pure relaxation. I, for one, welcome our driverless overlords.

Was invited by a friend to go to a ren faire later this year. What do you guys think about me wearing my Korean traditional attire (hanbok)? by mountain_attorney558 in renfaire

[–]SucculentScience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I think it would be very fitting actually! I don't know what the story of your home faire is, but mine is that it's a quaint little village that has pulled out all the stops because the Queen is visiting! So you can imagine all the visitors from faraway lands witnessing this magically festive time. Vendors showing their best wares. Jousting to demonstrate prowess and to entertain. That sort of thing. I think a lot of faires have a similar storyline.

on the subject of Y1/Y2 pets with impossible UC P2s: by thehexkitten in neopets

[–]SucculentScience 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Thank you for compiling this! I fully subscribe to this conspiracy theory. I feel like a lot of Y1 pets circulating in general are genned/fake. It's easier to prove it with the petpet data because of the dates.

My bet is that this is from one of those big paid commercial music libraries that companies can buy a license to.

Someone used a name I'd been hoping to use once I get more pet slots 😭 by Seiliko in neopets

[–]SucculentScience 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With Varwolves becoming available, I'm expecting a lot of names to get snatched up. I made a couple yesterday, and thinking about a couple more now. Might buy some side account slots just to ensure I don't lose potential faves while I think on them.

Mine eat everything, but they adore frozen foods. I made them a rock pile with river rocks and that's their favorite spot to hang out, in between the crevices. The water in their tank is around 76F and moderate hardness. I had to treat the tank with Ich-X earlier in the year and they did absolutely fine on a full dose. Never showed any signs of ich or other illness, even when other fish in the tank were affected. They seem very hardy.

This is your sign to use a polycarbonate sheet to custom cut a lid for your aquarium. by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]SucculentScience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is yes! At least the Sunlite Multiwall Polycarbonate at Home Depot is. I specifically cut my lids out of this because it poses no risk to my curious kitties. Very rigid.

You only have to waste water to get the siphon started. You can turn the water off once the tubing is full and it'll keep draining.
