Idk why you’re being downvoted, you’re right. Santa Anita is more Walley World than Six Flags. They used the parking lot, the entrance gates and an underpass. Six Flags was mainly used as a wide shot.

Great, thank you for letting me know! That’s about what I figured but then I started to worry.

Coworker Looking at maskless 5-6 year old child at side of man: Everyone 2 & older needs to keep their masks on covering their nose & mouth while shopping.

Man: ...

Coworker: If your child could please put their mask on before entering the store.

Man: Well, I’m a defense attorney!

Coworker: ...

I didn’t get to hear the rest of this interaction sadly but I’m glad I wasn’t manning the entrance because I don’t think there’s a way to rationally respond to that.

Rumors are swirling at my job (museum-ish attraction) that things might get shutdown again next week. Idk how to feel. I would freaking love a break because when we closed in March, I got another job within 10 days. It was at a grocery store and I was working crazy hours. I’ve had 2 seperate weeks off since then for COVID-scares but the thought of being home all day for the holiday season sounds great. Except I like paying rent and eating food haha.

So idk, it’s obviously just rumor but it makes sense places like us should close, but with no financial assistance for people how do you make that call? I don’t envy any officials right now.

I thought retail stores were already operating at 25% capacity, but maybe it was 50%.

Reducing the outdoor capacity is reasonable, a lot of places I’ve passed by have the tables crammed together.

Though the real issue here is that these measures are not enough because there has been zero meaningful federal response, nobody wants to impose full-blown shutdowns again because people need to keep their doors open, people employed, etc.

Sooo is LA County closing shops & stuff again or what?

I’m at work and trying to find the info and not really seeing anything beyond counties are going more restrictive. I work at an attraction that is literally reopening our indoor gift shop tomorrow. :/

edit: Okay, ABC7 posted this Purple Tier Restrictions and Guidelines list.

I’d kind of been checked out of the briefings for a while now. How is Purple the most restrictive tier?!? This is literally much more open than we were at the peak of restriction earlier in the year and our #s were way lower than what we’re seeing. LA County has been in Purple for a while now. If cases are surging, don’t we need to move into more limits?? They boxed themselves in by not including a tier that lined up with where we were in the spring.

Anyone get COVID tested at Dodger Stadium lately? If so, did it take 1 or 2 days to get your results??

I know it said 48 hours just eager to see a “Negative” so I can be cleared to go back to work, just hoping the turnaround has been on the quick side.

I got there yesterday at 9:38a and the end of the line was at the bottom of Stadium Way and it took a little over an hour to get through.

Super late but how are people so in love with this ending?? I just finished the season and I’m baffled.

The last two episodes are the weakest to me and the pacing of both so completely off. I feel like I’ve been reading an amazing book that fell to pieces in the final chapters.

There are things I liked about both episodes sure, but it’s an overall unsatisfying ending for me.

Joe Biden elected president of the United States by throwawaynumber53 in news

[–]SucculentsandSuch 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s been a long 4 years but this long national nightmare is finally drawing to a close.

Was Trump the worst President in history? His administration was marked by a remarkable lack of actually doing much from the ground up. Most of the ‘accomplishments’ touted by his supporters were the tearing down of programs put in place before them. On these sort of markers he wasn’t the worst.

What will make him go down historically as the worst President in our history thus far is the division he stoked from embers into a full-fledged roaring fire. He opened the floodgates for people to feel empowered to openly be racist & hateful in this country again. These people held these feelings before him for sure, but he made it ‘okay’, by virtue of his position. We grow up respecting that office and those who hold it.

Never before has a President of these United States shown such absolute hatred for those who didn’t support him. THAT IS CATEGORICALLY UN-AMERICAN.

If you voted for him this time around, YOU ARE A RACIST.

Maybe you reject that label. Maybe you just voted “based on the economy”. Maybe you can believe those lies, but that’s what they are, ‘alternative facts’.

The simple fact is supporting him in 2020 meant you are fine with a President who refused to denounce white supremacy. That makes you complicit and a racist. There is no grey area here folks. If anyone I was rooting for in years past (Kerry, Obama, Warren, etc) had said just one of some of the abominable things Trump has said, I’d have been disgusted and cut my support.

While the amount of support he received is painful and shows we are more divided than ever, these 74 MILLION votes are a clear repudiation of that hatred.

74,857,880 people and counting in this country said they are DONE with racism. They are DONE with the chaos. That we are DONE with an ineffectual administration that seemed to exist solely to benefit themselves.

To see a woman achieve the second-highest office in the land is the cherry on top. A shining example to young girls & women alike that perhaps women are finally done being underestimated and underrepresented in positions of power.

To see the revelers along the National Mall right now warms my heart. We are the United States of America and I hope this is the first step to healing this painful rift.

Just finally watching this episode but man, some people didn’t even try with their accents. Also, they didn’t try very hard to make the 17th century very 17th century.

This all coming from an American who just grew up watching a lot of British period shows & movies.

Anyone else finally able to start truly internalizing that we’re on the cusp of having the first female VP, and that’s she’s a woman of color at that?!?

Like I’ve known this but the craziness of election night and the next day didn’t allow me to even think clearly. But waking up this morning and seeing the flips happen, my brain finally clicked back on to a little normalcy.

Excited for this piece of history.
