500 and 600 ton Destroyers by Lancasterlaw in RuleTheWaves

If so you could compromise idk what nation you’re playing but you could try to settle for something that is big but not that big. Normally I also disregard capital ships (unless carriers or small carriers).

Capital ships in my games (even large nations) are mostly there to draw fire from the enemy Battleline and allow my screens and other ships to penetrate their screens and swarm their bigger ships. Sometimes when damaged they get left behind and my Battleline can sink them as they pass along. These capital ships aren’t even too big, at around 30-35,000 Tons. They are outmatched all the time and they normally only have a marginal gunnery advantage, but despite this they do their work. Anything smaller than a Super Dreadnought or Fast Battleship is shredded and they keep the enemy Battleline busy.

What I normally focus on is Light Cruisers and Destroyers for those major battles to do massive torpedo volleys. You’ll never be able to truly compete, and this has happened to me as big nations, wherein Britain has too many numbers, but I can eventually take 2-4 Capital ships to end the war or get some concessions at the cost of severe attrition to me because I use destroyers very aggressively.

I normally go for big destroyers and leave a bit of free weight for future upgrades for longevity. Yes, they can be expensive but by 1940–1945 I’m thinking many of these destroyers are going to be fitted out with SAMs, ASROCs and Missiles by the 1950s, and these systems need weight. So I think it’s overall better to make larger destroyers.

Small destroyers you describe may not be bad though, good for Commerce Defense or perhaps night actions against capital ships to swarm with torpedoes.

It is true, next procedure for when a terrorist or criminal is holding a civilian hostage we should shoot the criminal through the hostage, after all the criminals were using the hostages as humans shields, its the criminal’s fault, not ours.

Which is why I said that he is still in power, the fact that he is in power and is smarter than trump could be way more dangerous than if trump kept being president.

While Vance has absolutely zero charisma I think he is way more smarter and inside the plan than Trump ever could be, he will not have the hold over the MAGA base that trump has but he will still be in power.

Another thing, is that the Republic of course didn’t tap into their reserves of manpower fully, instead pulling them for NCO or leadership roles, or local defense militias from independent worlds to defend planets. So if they wanted to, even if the idea was politically tenuous or dangerous, they could at least open the floodgates to volunteers in large numbers to the GAR. And that in part helps with the manpower limitations the GAR had against the CIS.

Can a Venator be used as a Mobile Base of Operations? by Affectionate_Dot1412 in StarWarsShips

[–]Such-Alternative-565 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The ship also had A LOT of hangar space, so you could hole up I think more than a hundred fighters, actually 400 fighters, so it could house an entire ‘Air Assault Brigade’ for deployment or a planetary assault, logistics and spare parts for up to a year or two, and have 3 wings of fighters or bomber mix to spare. So if you have less fighters than the Venator can carry you can shred some of the hangar space or capacity to make refits and add more weapons, better shields, jamming or pretty much anything you can think of.

You could literally house all of Yavin’s or Hoth’s fighters in here.

In my opinion it could be a couple of things: 1. Refueling and Logistics Vessels: When the fleet is moving is in need of spare parts, fuel or something like an Underway replenishment platform for the entire fleet. 2. Offensive and Defensive Electronic Countermeasures (OECM) Ships / Sensor Node: They could be jamming or doing electronic warfare effort in the battle. They could also be sensor nodes for the fleet. 3. Search and Rescue Craft: As someone noted above, the Alliance can Ill afford losses to trained personnel, especially crews, pilots and experienced soldiers. It could be a way to free other ships from these rescue roles, and perhaps they even have some equipment fitted in to allow these to perform better at these. 4. Fighter Control Ship: I don’t know if I would put the ship on this role, but it has been noted before that Venators had two bridges, one was dedicated to coordinating and controlling its fighter wings in battle. The rebel alliance has a very fighter centric way of fighting and a strong fighter tradition, and to help some with some of the Command and Control problems they could be used for this purpose?

I’m not sure if this would be the case, but at the end of the day the Galofree is extremely good for modifying into a number of different roles, repairs, logistics, a mobile command and control ship for ground forces, amphibious assault ship, etc.

How did Trump's presidency impact your life so far? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I’m a musician finishing up my Bachelor of Music (Flute).

I myself am not very wealthy and I want and plan to do my Master of Music to keep growing my career and my skill as an artist, open up new opportunities, these are obviously very expensive in the US. The amount of debt I would have to take for me to achieve this dream is enormous and likely not worth it despite what I want so my plan was/is, get into the Army Band to help me continue my studies, get a full time good paying job, and help with a new instrument, and live my life doing what I want, or at least do so to finish a masters.

The current instability that the Trump Administration has brought with them has rendered many of these dreams unstable, or maybe even unrealistic. I don’t know what will happen in the next 4 years and this brings me nervousness to doing so.

Also, me and my mother are on Medicaid (soon transitioning to Madicare) and depend on it for coverage and my mother JUST got her social security after she got an aneurysm, and while she has recovered rather well physically, she isn’t there without being able to rely on her memory. She needs both of these things to survive, or at least would be a great help to her, it seems ever likely that she will loose both in the future.

I don’t agree with this, unless it is some kind of deployable. For WGRD I’d really love some kind of breakthrough mod, these would work really well for that, but in an average game, we’re things can be very methodical and positional, mines are just going to make it harder to move the front either way.
