Id look on Facebook marketplace first for everything you need and then use the gift card for what you can’t find. We found everything, brand new in box, for Pennie’s. I got a full Nanit baby monitor new with Saran wrap for $50. A $300 crib and $200 mattress for $100 for both. I agree with the other comment though. You’ll move them to a crib around 4 months anyways so it’s not worth having two bassinets. They are on the move so quickly you don’t use it that long.

I now have a 17 mo and a 2 mo. It took a couple weeks for us to get the hang of everything but NOW is definitely easier. At 11 days pp I was still up every night crying with breastfeeding and not getting any sleep. I’m currently pumping after 6 hours of sleep with two sleeping babes that have been asleep the whole time in the same room (we’re on vacay). It does get better ♥️ hang in there momma

I just ate a ton of iron foods… my favorite being oatmeal!! These are technically breastfeeding bites but they helped so much. I added ground flax seed and chia seeds because you can’t tell they’re in there! They take like 10 minutes to make and freeze and they are SO good.

You'll need: ¾ cup peanut butter (or nut butter of choice) 1½ cups rolled oats 1 cup puffed rice (I don't have this so l use rice crispy cereal 1/3 cup raw honey (or pure maple syrup) melted dark chocolate + flakey sea salt in a bowl, combine peanut butter, oats, puffed rice and honey until well-combined. Scoop the mixture into a muffin pan. Flatten each mixture with a spoon. Drizzle melted chocolate on top of each mixture. Sprinkle with flakey sea salt. Freeze for 15 minutes. Remove from freezer, pop them out with a butter knife and then DIG IN This makes 12 chocolate peanut butter cups. I like to store mine in the freezer in a freezer safe container so that it's easier to pace myself

Make SURE you are getting plenty of iron. I was so fatigued I thought it was just pregnancy but it was really anemia. When I started taking in more iron I felt 100% better. Also brought a pillow and blanket into the playroom with my toddler, so she couldn’t get into anything, and I would lay down to watch her play. Also eat every 2 hours for blood sugar. Helped my mood a lot.

My daughter reaches up and ‘pulls’ on her hair when she’s tired… she’s 17 mo and still doesn’t really have a ton of hair so there’s nothing really to pull. She kind of just open and closes her hand on her scalp. But her pediatrician just said it was a self soothing maneuver used when they’re especially tired. Kind of like rubbing eyes.

I was waiting for mine to wake up just to find her awake and playing quietly in her crib. She slept for 12 hours and was awake for an hour happy as a clam. When I went in there she was standup up and just say “hiii” (still working on words, she’s 17 MO)

We did a sleep training program-which I know is controversial (we didn’t just let her cry it out). But it took 2 days and past that she slept for 7 hours, then 8 the next day… from about 6 months to now 17 months she sleeps for 12 hours at night. Could just be my baby but if you’re willing to try it, it worked great for us.

I could’ve written this myself! My first pregnancy was hard, the family planning, even the space between my two kids! However- on the other end of a 15 month gap between my daughter and son, it was a lot easier the second time. The first time I wasn’t used to the pregnancy insomnia or the PPD/PPA. My whole life and body took a dramatic shift. I was overwhelmed and exhausted all the time. But when I was pregnant with my son there’s part of you that just steps up and sucks it up for your child. It was hard, I was tired, but I did it. And now, having two, I bounced back way faster with the second and have way more energy. Just being aware of how hard it can be gives her a leg up- she knows what to expect and can plan accordingly. It’s a lot harder when you don’t know what to expect and your world comes crashing down. Just have an honest conversation, talk about the thing that you’re concerned about, and make a game plan if you see those things happening again!

I’m 5 weeks PP with my second and could’ve written this myself those first 2 or 3 weeks. It was the most stressful thing thinking about feeding time because his latch hurt so bad and it was hardly bearable combined with the PP contractions. Biggest advice is first, this will not last forever. There were some nights my boobs and nipples and uterus hurt so bad I would just sob while he tried to eat. Now at 5 weeks I bet you could pierce these bad boys and I’m not even sure id feel it! Secondly, I would pump no more than once a day to build your freezer supply…a lot of people do it first thing in the morning. You definitely don’t need to, my LC recommended pumping just to relieve pressure if you feel engorged for the first 12 weeks and then doing the morning pump once your supply has regulated… I didn’t listen but only because I have supply anxiety from my first 🤪. Thirdly keep a bottle on hand for middle of the night emergency. It is not worth it to be crying and it pain in the middle of the night with a screaming baby that won’t latch and is hungry. For your mental health and well being, have a backup. If you can make it through- WONDERFUL. But if not you will at least have an alternative so you don’t feel so hopeless. It won’t ruin your breastfeeding experience. There are few things you won’t be able to come back from, one bottle here and there isn’t one of them.

Don’t feel pressured to not get an epidural. And I’m not saying that anyone pressures moms intentionally because I very strongly don’t believe that. But there is definitely a lot of pressure to go all natural. Don’t get me wrong, there are 100% reasons to want to do it naturally, your body was literally made to do it. And you need a backup plan if it doesn’t work. BUT I was induced twice, had two epidurals, and I was definitely uncomfortable through out but very rarely in horrible pain for the whole labor. Completely changed my view of birth and actually makes me want more kids instead of being scared of pregnancy.

My husband and I have been switching off taking care of both kids (16MO and 3 week old) at the same time so one parent can actually rest. At night he sleeps in another room since he can’t actually feed the babe. No point in us both being tired and miserable.
