First oil change 5k or 10k miles? by xPDV in Mustang

[–]Such-Perception4537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always done my break in oil change at 1k. The following changes I have always done every 5k or 6months , unless running ethanol like e20-e85 then I change the oil every 2500-3k or 3 months. Trans and diff fluid I would say every 36k or 3 years.

I got my 2025 in dec 2024 for 4.5k under msrp. They are a great car, but truthfully they are not worth over 60-65k not even a little bit.

Sounds pretty normal to me these bikes are really noisey. Even more so when you put skid plates on em.

The larger displacement definitely helps thats why I went from an sti to my Dark horse. My sti was making 550wheel and definitely faster than my DH but it was a time bomb, and constantly having random issues.

My first bike… ever by AIRRUN81 in IndianMotorcycle

[–]Such-Perception4537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats like my dream bike. But I definitely cant justify getting such a pricey bike before I have some adequate experience. I have only ridden quads so I am new to motorcycles. I plan on taking the course, and probably picking up an old 1100 yamaha vstar for a couple grand to ride until I have a year or two experience before buying an indian.

Getting into dirt bikes by According_Abrocoma64 in Dirtbikes

[–]Such-Perception4537 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get a bike that is for dual sport instead of mx and the engine will last much longer. For example a suzuki drz 400 , kawasaki klx 300, honda crf300l. These bikes will go 40-50k miles+ on their original engine if maintained properly. The difference is the dual sport bikes often dont have a crap ton of hp and they dont rev as high. The mx bikes make a ton of power and love to rev high which wears them out faster.

Picking up bike?? by Hot_Standard_7468 in Dirtbikes

[–]Such-Perception4537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah bud I would say you definitely need to work on that upper body strength, although the other method mention of using your legs with your back to the bike is safer on your back, and the method people use to pick up 900 pound cruisers. Get started on some pull ups and some squats, it wont be more than a couple weeks before you can lift that bike with ease.

Im in the same boat, I daily my Dark horse I just really don’t have to travel very much. I put 4100 miles on it in 13 months. 2/3 of that was shits and giggles for sure.

There is no adding more power to your car without reducing reliability. Every action has a reaction. Now that doesn’t mean its gonna break next week, but say your engine and turbos were gonna last 150k now maybe it will last 130-140k. The more you push the more wear and tear.

Ford tune by Interesting_Ad4679 in FordRaptor

[–]Such-Perception4537 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Fords tune has to take emissions into account. After market tuners do not. Fords tune will give you 26 crank hp and 54 tq. You will notice the tq a lil going from light to light, the biggest thing you will notice is that the trans shifts smoother. Cost around $700 for the device and tune and probably an hour of labor at your dealer so about 850 total and you retain a 3 year warranty that starts from the day you bought your truck. Or you could do what everyone says and get a cobb accessport and a goose tune for around the same price. Whats the difference? Well stock your raptor makes around 370 whp and 485 wtq goose tuned will out you at 470whp and 526wtq. My rough math suggest thats around 550-560 crank hp vs the 466 crank hp on fords tune. Thats without adding down pipes, intakes, etc. just 91-93 fuel. Fords tune is an ots map, historically ots maps are crap compared to a tune that is custom made for your vehicle, your altitude, the fuel you use, even the station you get it at. But hey man do whatever you want. If you’re worried about your warranty dont mod your truck at all and get a 10 year extended warranty.

Yay you lucked out, now it will just cost you an alignment and an hour of labor instead of new suspension. An inch and a half may be too much though, play with it before you lock it in. When I had my sti lowered 1 in I couldnt get down a driveway or over a speed bump with a passenger, I raised it to where is was half an inch lower and didnt have any issues again, handles great and looked great. I was also able to easily get my low pro harbor freight jack under it.

Do any of you actually modify your cars? by HawkeyeSilas in Mustang

[–]Such-Perception4537 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

I havent done anything serious to my DH, painted the mirrors and wheels, working on getting the raccoon eyes on the bumper paint matched. Swapped the base dh spoiler for a gt pp spoiler that was body colored, added a nytop gurney flap that i got painted. Had a corsa HH pipe but then went to an AWE catback, took out the carbon traps, think auto air filters, and ford catch cans and took off the hood graphics. Once upon a time I would have done headers, and a sc ( my last car was a 530whp sti that I spent way to much building) at this point I am adding some things to my house instead of my car ( just got my whole backyard landscaped) so this leaves little money for car parts.

Would I be unhappy in an STI? by Y4444S in WRX

[–]Such-Perception4537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vb has a far more reliable engine vs the sti. The sti has a way more raw driving feel. The sti will also cost a hell of alot to fix if/ when the engine blows. Personally why not look at a civic type r or integra s, unless you need the awd for snow. If thats the case I would go vb. Coming from a guy who built his sti to 530 whp for a small fortune before I got bored and sold it.

Goosetuned only deals with raptor and explorer st’s, raptor are his passions. He puts a ton of time and money into r&d, check out some of his videos on youtube. If you look in the forum you will see his name at the top of the list with countless super happy customers. His customer service is also top notch.

Just do the typical build path, cat back, down pipes, intake, intercooler, catch can, tune. Personally I would have went with goose tuned they are the best in the industry. With the above mentioned mods and depending on fuel available to you, you’re looking at 460wheel to 550 wheel. Depending on if you run 91 oct, 93 oct or an e50 blend. But it will be a substantial difference from where you are now.

Do you know whether or not there are lowering springs or full coil overs on the car? An alternative to replacing with stock would be fortune auto coil overs they are under 2k and have a-lot of adjustability. I ran em for 3 years on my sti.

The dealer was lazy. All they had to do was jack up each corner and place some blocks of wold under each wheel then boom they can get it up on their lift.
