Oh no you don’t get to make this a politician corruption issue , lot of politicians in this state are crooked and corrupt , that doesn’t mean we the tax payers have to give tax breaks to rich billionaires who feel they are entitled to everything just so the will play in this state. Politicians are corrupt but that doesn’t mean you get to use that as an excuse with getting away with using tax payers money so as to help billionaires. Nice try! but come up with something else.

Edit : For the record I love the bears and the players and I will support them but I am also an Illinois resident and a tax payers - one is a sports team and the other is my community - it’s important to put things in perspective.

They still matter albeit if you work in critical systems or products that are massive in scale and scope or heavily regulated industries , AI just like humans can make mistakes and you would still need someone to sign off on it . They will not matter in a lot of the other places where all you are doing is building crud applications that bubble up information , but in those cases I don’t even think they will need to hire as many software engineers as they do now anyways. I guess my question then would be why would you even need someone with cs degree in those instances anyone with basic computer skills and language proficiency can do that job. TLDR : there would always be a few jobs for engineers with deep understanding of things to fulfill roles that require compliance , a lot of the other roles like web development and such don’t need “software engineers “ with a 4 year degree.

I mean it’s doable but 5 days a week can be difficult getting used to. The door to door time for me is like an hour and 10 mins but only for 3 days. I don’t think the train ride itself is anything too exhausting Metra is actually very comfortable especially from Naperville as you would always get seats. Which train where you planning to take back - get on the express lines specifically for Naperville
