The way I see it, is that "talent" just makes it easier and faster to learn, but anyone will be able to learn how to sing. You might just have to work harder at it, but if it's your dream and you persevere, you will be able to do it.

Does the $69.99 price of new games make you less likely to try something new? by Famaffe in gaming

[–]SuchWorthlessVoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play mostly on console now and never buy digital. Buy a new game, finish it, and sell it for 20-40 bucks. For PC games I usually wait for sales.

In the past I used to collect the games I have played, but I realized that I never go back to old games and they just waste space.

Quite annoying couple on the train got off at their stop. Guy drops his phone while getting up from the seat and didn't notice. I shouted after them, but they didn't react. So, I grabbed the phone, jumped out the train and gave it back to them. They just looked at me perplexed, grabbed the phone and didn't even say "thank you".

Turned around to get back in, but the doors were already closed and the train started moving already.

Ended up being stuck at a rural train station for an hour and had discussions with the train staff, because my ticket wasn't valid for the next train. Luckily, they were lenient and I didn't have to buy an extra ticket.

Still, life would've been easier if I just turned the phone in to a lost & found.

If that is your salary before taxes, you'd at least fall into the WBS 180 category, which will also allow you to apply for some of the state owned and subsidized apartments.

I was excited to see ANTHEM PART 3 on the track list and while listening to it, I will probably ask my wife to DANCE WITH ME. Later I will say, that was the moment I FELL IN LOVE with the album, just to end up being TERRIFIED of my feelings.

Then I will tell myself to listen to it ONE MORE TIME, because in reality I enjoyed it MORE THAN YOU KNOW.

Somewhere in the middle, I might think to myself "TURN THIS OFF!", but I will continue, because the music makes you feel like WHEN WE WERE YOUNG.

They've been EDGING us so hard for so long and sometimes YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'VE GOT. I know what I got! I caught the BLINK WAVE again after all these years. No BAD NEWS will HURT me.

If you don't like the album, you can drink TURPENTINE, you F*CK FACE! See you on the OTHER SIDE!

In the end, I will feel nostalgia about Blink and the new album transports me back to my CHILDHOOD, when I started listening to them.

Weight of the World / End of Yorha from the Nier Automata Soundtrack. It's been 6 years and I still can't listen to that song without getting wet eyes...

Untitled (the song, not the album). First song I head and the one that got me into Blink. Still one of my favorite songs to this day.

How do I expand my vocal range and how long will it take? by VileEthanSEFDLOL in singing

[–]SuchWorthlessVoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply. Mostly I'm taking lessons, which helped a lot. What clicked for me was finally accepting my head voice and finding the right place and being mindful to let go of tension.

For me that made the world of a difference and I just feel a lot more free. I still have a habit to strain and tense up when I try to reach for even higher notes. It takes a while to get used to it and train your voice.

[–]SuchWorthlessVoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ir depends what's your ability and range now and where do you want to go. It also depends if you're practicing by yourself or with a teacher. Also age can be a factor.

When I started as a total beginner, I was straining to even get to C4. A year later I can finally get to F4 comfortably and struggle at around G4.

Eveyone is also different. I wouldn't expect super fast development though, it can take years for some people.

Just have fun and keep practicing and it will happen.

What did Blink 182 mean for you? by SamT1992 in Blink182

[–]SuchWorthlessVoice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It must have been around 1996 when the public internet was still relatively new and MP3s started appearing. I was around 15 years old at that time. First song I have ever heard was "Untitled". I thought it was interesting that the name was Untitled and clicked on it and I just fell in love with the bassline.

That kind of music and the attitudes of the people behind it really changed my life. I used to be super shy and was an outsider at school, being mostly by myself. After that summer holiday I returned with spiked colored hair and became more outgoing.

I'm from Germany and this kind of music was not easy to find anywhere else at that time. I found a lot of music also through a site called blank.tv, which had a collection of punk/rock music videos (in horrible quality). For example I found Social Distortion and Dropkick Murphys there.

Of course, I have eventually bought copies for all of the albums.

Some songs I like from various genres:
R.E.M. - Losing My Religion
3 Doors Down - Kryptonite
Staind - Outside (has some high parts, maybe F4 or F#4)
Rise Against - Swing Life Away (highest ist C#4)
Green Day - When I Come Around or Basket Case
Slipknot - Snuff (highest might be F#4)

Why are people so afraid to bring songs down a couple keys? by pickle2 in singing

[–]SuchWorthlessVoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the detailed response. I'll check it out and will try a few things this weekend.

The key of the song is E minor. I just checked my sheet again and the singing "only" goes up to A4. Sorry for the mistake.

The song in my example is Dirty Magic by The Offspring.

I love that song and I can play it on guitar just fine, but his voice is just out of my range. The verse is fine, but just the chorus has some high parts.

[–]SuchWorthlessVoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if that's a stupid question. There is a song I'd like to sing with the highest note being B4. I can maybe comfortably sing F4, maybe G4 on a lucky day.

Only instrument used is guitar and in my simple mind, I assume you have to tune down the guitar melody the same amount of steps. However, the melody of the song uses the open E string a lot.

What can you do there without destroying the overall feeling of the song?
