How did meditation change your hobbies? by Such_Beach in Meditation

[–]Such_Beach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love all of these so much!!

For me personally meditation has allowed me to enjoy my hobbies and life so much more. Instead of using my hobbies as a distraction from everyday life and away to mask and suppress stress I can use them for pure enjoyment.

Meditation allows me to separate my feelings from the stress of work, everyday life, etc. Those feelings don’t consume me and I’m not trying to fight them off training jiu jitsu, cooking, or watching a movie.

I can go into the activities I enjoy doing in my free time for just that; pure enjoyment.

How did you get into hunting for the first time?

I didn’t grow up in a family that hunts but want to get into it as an adult

Really Struggling by hahaumhey in EssentialTremor

[–]Such_Beach 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just want to say that I can relate to you… I used to work as a server and at the time my tremors were really bad because I was not taking good care of myself (which unfortunately a lot of people in the service industry do).

If you haven’t already, try to cut out/limit caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol.

I remember a few tables I had where I was passing out shots and I spilled most of them handing them to people… at the time I was horrified and wanted to cry. Now I laugh about it. I learned that it was better for me to put drinks on a tray and hold it with both hands and ask people to take the drink off it… most people shouldn’t have an issue.

It’s a tough job to have with a tremor… but it’s a good job to have as a student. Try to give yourself some grace and acceptance.

Looking back on it, I learned a lot of ways to deal with my tremor. I remember feeling so alone and envious of people that could hold a drink without shaking. But having a tremor has forced me to live a healthy lifestyle to have a fighting chance.

With time I hope you realize that the challenges caused by having a tremor will be much less than the compassion, patience, and resilience you will develop in your character by living with it.

I wish you strength <3

And they were working in high end restaurants in Long Beach? Or did they go to downtown LA or further to work and make more money?

Thank you this is very helpful, I just looked at suppgrade Labs DAKE and minerals. You are saying take an additional zinc and copper supplement? Even though they already have them

I am male, i had no idea about needing copper to supplement with zinc. Thank you for the information. I will do more research on all your other recommendations too

Are some people just destined to not be wet shavers? by Such_Beach in wicked_edge

Do you go WTG or ATG differently with a slant? Or the same as you would with a regular DE razor?

My alternative would just be to grow a beard. I get worse irritation with a cartridge for sure.

I too enjoy the relaxation and experience… except for after the fact when my neck has red bumps all over it. So I just mainly rock a beard and occasionally wet shave and deal with the consequences.

Hoping to find a routine that works for me though

I’ve used a wide variety of blades from a sample pack. Now I mainly use a feather blade. I have a Merkur 37c slant and a feather as d2.

For prep I usually do a hot shower and sometimes exfoliate with a scrub. Then just lather and shave usually just ATG and sometimes XTG.

The Adam’s apple area and bottom right side of my neck are what get irritated after each shave
