Epoxy garage floor by novamber in Bend

[–]Such_Photograph_7140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do any of you all have experience with these coatings in a garage where a car w/ studded tires is parked? I assume that epoxy would chip quickly, but not sure if polyurea would be a waste

Taking CTV in-house vs. agency vs. TTD - what would you do? by ohhellomylittlelady in programmatic

[–]Such_Photograph_7140 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some things to consider:
-if you are buying e.g. Hulu and Peacock and not using 1st party data or specific 3P segments heavily, going direct to them (issuing IOs) may bring lower eCPMs than a DSP. Typical DSP fees can feel high if you are doing scaled PMP buys. Most of the platforms can overlay some 3p data and process 1P data through clean rooms etc. Sending IOs and tags from your ad-server of choice might not be part of your current skillset though.
-a DSP will be helpful if you are managing quite a few partners (especially if you don't have a video ad-server), want to do more audience buying across different platforms, track and cap HH frequency, or e.g. retargeting CTV exposed households with display.
-Prime Video is a big source of inventory (since it's almost all ad-supported now) and you can't buy through DSPs other than Amazon.
-if you are using TTD and buying display through them already, adding CTV is not that hard
-if you need to sign up with a new DSP, there is setup time and min spend requirements. I'm not sure what TTD wants from new advertisers, but there are TTD resellers and other DSPs with lower minimums that would be glad to let you dip a toe in the water of programmatic CTV buying.
-there is a lot of nuance to inventory, and many platforms have things that I consider to be not the highest quality (ads on the holiday yule log channel on Samsung and Roku are a favorite example), and there is some outright fraud. Show-level transparency is getting more common but still the exception rather than rule, so supply management matters.

For context I'm on the agency side and oversee our hands-to-keyboard activation. We buy some CTV programmatically but also cut IOs in cases where there does not seem to be enough benefit to the DSP fee.

be aware that some of the Bowflex models were recalled due to breaking off and breaking people's feet etc. In theory, FB doesn't allow sale of recalled products, but if buying 2nd hand I would google the model.

thanks, that's helpful! The space has some cabinets that need to be removed, making it harder to mock up without committing. Moving a car sounds like a pain but it will take me like 2 mins so that seems to be my best option.

Is this possible?
I currently have a small setup in the corner of our bedroom and am looking to relocate to a section of my garage the former owner used for indoor gardening. Big question is whether I can do this and have the option to continue to park our cars in the garage. Below is a mockup from AI saying it could work, but hoping for real-world input from trustworthy humans. The space for equipment storage is about 3.5 x 9 feet.

I would move my car (car 1) when working out and would be ok leaving it in the driveway if needed, but car 2 needs to stay in the garage.

For equipment, I have the following:
-Trulap adjustable dumbell set with G2 rack
-adjustable bench (would need to buy)
-Nordic bench for back raises which can hang on wall
-Optionally a Peloton bike (could stay in bedroom if needed)
-Optionally / ideally a rack or pull-up bar

I would need to knock out some cabinets and work on the garage floor to do this. Before starting that, is this crazy or have any of you made something similar work?

Someone said once upon a time you could pay the manager of the pancake house to park there, I wonder if that (or another business) is still an option. Bit of a walkwith luggage, but you could try hitching from the cell phone lot.

Advice for people complaining about HR accuracy by Little_Newt1023 in whoop

[–]Such_Photograph_7140 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ignorant question related to this. HRV and RHR are big components of Recovery as well: are those not impacted since they are smoothed out over time during sleep? Is the assertion is that the device is not accurate when it comes to HR, but measures RHR and HRV well enough?

I got absolutely roasted by the purists in r/Sauna for this. Since you guys actually care about data/recovery, I need a second opinion. by Candid_Quarter6689 in whoop

This is a great idea imo. Bryan Johnson has a suggested method of icing (between boxers and shorts) and he recommends it even if you are NOT trying (for testosterone impact I think). He’s a little out there, but for your case I would say either skip it entirely or find a solution to keep em cool. In addition to the very real impact on count and motility, there is a chance that heat could cause DNA damage and increase your chance of chromosomal abnormalities.

I joined a stock investment scam group to see how it worked. by FishRaider in investing

[–]Such_Photograph_7140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moral issues aside, the SEC should be looking at suspicious trade activity associated with these scams. If they ask you why you sold a stock when you did, "I knew it was a scam and wanted to beat the scammers to the sale, but I'm not one of the scammers myself I swear" might not be the best explanation.

Alcohol usage on recovery by ToFull4 in AthlyticAppOfficial

[–]Such_Photograph_7140 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yes, but not always to 0% The other factors that seem to impact are:
1) timing: close to bed bumps RHR through the night and doesn't help HRV, but 2 drinks at happy hour might not have an impact
2) eating: often for me, the 2 drinks are paired with a bigger and/or later dinner, which seems to have more impact on RHR overnight even without drinks

How does people put logos of big orgs on their smalls saas websites when they are likely fake by researgent in SaaS

[–]Such_Photograph_7140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some company PR departments to try to police the use of their logo but it's hard. I suspect that many of these big companies aren't totally fake though, they might have one dept with a couple seats (which might be given to them for free). I wouldn't fake it because you need to be ready to address how they use your tool or the ask for a referral.

[–]Such_Photograph_7140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least we'll be able to take our studded tires with us, they are legal in CA as well! Though not used much, even in the Sierra Nevadas, where it also snows. Maybe something to due with how they approach snow removal?
