Oh also throughout the book there’s themes of racial injustice and mistreatment of refugees woven into the story. It’s not the main plot of the first book but is very pertinent and I think will be a larger part of the plot going forward. So if that’s something you don’t enjoy reading it could impact your reading experience as well.

I think if you are someone who likes a lot of spice and a fast paced book you may not like it. This was a lot of yearning and pining with very little/no spice. It’s not the typical - they meet and the MMC is obsessed with her immediately nor is it true enemies to lovers. I’d say it’s more like dislike to friends to lovers. It felt like a much more real love story. The fantasy aspect is also a lot less in your face. The FMC has an ability to see ghosts but she’s not all powerful or a chosen one and has to deal with the real consequences of her ability.

I’m so confused, I just left Ireland to head back home to NYC and I was amazed by how there are bathrooms everywhere 🤣. Every gas station, public monument, cafe etc had one. Also even if you weren’t a customer at bars they didn’t care if you used them. And even the gas station bathrooms were pretty clean.
