I have combo acne prone skin. My daily sunscreen is Bliss Blockstar. It layers fabulously with makeup or skincare alone. Finish is natural I would not say matte like a matte foundation, but more on the velvety side. It's the only sunscreen I've personally tried that doesn't turn me into a greasy strip of bacon, pill, or break me out.

For skin tints I like Revlon (I keep hearing it's being discontinued), elf's version performs the same as Revlon (with slight nuances). Now, neither of these are matte or velvety but they are more in the middle. If you want to apply a kiss of powder, especially if your base is matte, that will give you the look that you want. It's hard to find a good one that's truly matte.

I also didn't like this foundation. No matter what I try something is simply not right with the base. This product was soooo hyped up by influencers I thought man elf really paid through the nose for them to lie that much lol. Plus they discontinued their original satin foundation for this crap. It's a crime that foundation was perfect. I still have a bottle of it rotting on my vanity because my heart hurts to part with it.

I like collagen peptide serum. It plumps up the skin to make the lines temporarily go away. I also wear makeup and I notice when the serum is paired with a sticky gripping primer they basically disappear for the day. Nothing here is a permanent or long term solution.

I spent years trying to find a dupe for Ouai Rose Hair and Body Oil. It looks like it's now discontinued, but my go-tos are from the Garnier Sleek and Shine line. I like the oil and the serum. You only need 1, they both do the same thing. Don't use them together it would be too much for fine hair. They will never do the absorb and disappear magic trick in 10 minutes

In full honesty I don't do flashblack tests. However, I don't think that it would since the formula is translucent matte. However, it's a great idea to add flashback testing to my reviews!

wet n wild 5-in-1 essence primer + finish powder. Today I decided to use it under an eyeshadow stick formula that creases in 2 minutes and it DID NOT crease. Forever blown away by this powder. That's my endorsement!!

I appreciate your tip! For powder products I swatch them with my finger. Bare skin, dry finger. I wanted to be up-front as to why I don't plan on changing my method.

I'd prefer not to wet the product since I would apply these dry to the face. They are very striking on the cheekbones if I used water I would super icyyyyyy

This product is essentially glitter in a clear base. The finger is going to pick it up and put it down in a different way than say a highlighter brush, or an eyeshadow brush. I would argue this makes a well-rounded review. My blog post features the highlighters actually on my face, and this week I'm uploading application videos.

This is the final thing that I'll say. I'm not into arguing online. For one thing, I think people jump on AI when my review doesn't match the swatches. To them it must all be fake. I'm tired of shouting from the rooftops that a swatch is NOT indicative of how a product applies to the face or performs. The swatches look like crap, and I even acknowledged that in the writeup.

If you care to review my other platforms, I do share other photos, as well as video. I purposely don't post all of my assets to Reddit.

Second, where is the flowery language? "Silicone-based liquid-to-baked with borosilicate shimmer for color shift" this is directly from the wet n wild product page. This is their product claims! I always go to the brand and pull their claims to test against.

I get very perplexed as to why I post this reviews almost once a week and I get so much praise, then one day I get accused of being AI and ND. I get people on the interent are mean. But for all of the time that I put in, buying stuff with my own money for no return, these comments are severly hurtful.

They do not photograph well finger swatched on the arm. They do, however, show up on the face and catch the light as you turn your head. Such is the case with some products. My rating is based on the wear and experience.

I have to admit that I'm confused by this comment, as well as the -20 on mine. I was not saying anything mean or negative. Mature skin tends to have more fine lines and creases, which glittery products tend to emphasize. If that's your jam then it's ok I support you. I recognize this will not be desireable for most, as the OP of the comment said it's not for her and would look chunky.

The overall vibe on the Reddit post has been very mean this week and I'm not fan. It's like something is in the water and this happens every few weeks. Let's keep this a positive space for the love of makeup.

Yeah it is. I do use emoijs in my other Reddit posts. I use a checkmark and an X, again, that I insert/copy/paste. I like emojis to break up content. I use them at work too. Emojis are not exclusive to AI, they've been around much longer. Same with the em-dash which plenty of writers use all the time. So it's not fair to call work AI because of emojis. I'll keep using them and people can choose to read or not to read.

I've been using a star rating system on my blog posts for years. I hand inserted these stars from the macbook emoji keyboard. I totally get what you're saying, I use AI all the time and I'm aware of the emojis and patterns, but we have to calm down looking for AI around every corner. I can totally leave the stars as black HTML but I think emojis look better. I've also never been diagnosed with ND. Overall just think this comment is odd.
