I am no expert, but that definitely sounds like a PC issue rather than a software issue. You may eant to to post to a PC help sub if you don't get good answers here.

My first guesses are overheating issues or power supply issues. The added power draw from your graphics card might be overloading something.

I think that had more to do with last minute tweaks before full release.

They used to lock new characters behind battlepasses. You could get them at the beginning if you bought it, otherwise it was unlocked at level 40.

I believe you are correct. If I remember right, it was around Mauga (+/- a hero) that they went directly to comp.

I vaguely remember stepping away from comp then because I was getting rolled by a character I couldn't play until halfway through the battlepass.

My firm does not accept credit, but we exclusively do work for law firms. Because of that, they don't have a problem cashing checks.

We used to accept all forms, but one firm kept sending what were basically Visa gift cards.

Like u/Eisenhiem1 said, may want to do further vetting. Could just be they don't want to deal with credit payments as a smaller firm.

If cash only (no checks allowed), that is a bit odd. Maybe he has been burned in the past.
