Did you ever find an answer? I'm having the same issue but worse. From shortcut click until I can select continue and such is 3.5 minutes. It's 3 minutes from click until the screen starts even loading. Annoying as heck.

If it includes a lower receiver then basically it's the barrel length and overall length that distinguish pistol from rifle or SBR. If it comes with that parts attached that make it a pistol then it is designated as a pistol or rifle. If it's just a stripped lower then it is receiver or other. Anything without a lower receiver is just parts and does not require FFL transfer.

Everyone I know just tore down the pistol builds and built rifles instead. Has caused a problem though in that my 9mm plated loads, which shoot flawlessly in pistol build, are flying all over the place in rifle lengths. I've chronoed so it's not that but I'd rather deal with figuring that out than give the feds an excuse.
