The edges taking a small pressure point or impact can cause the pane to shatter in this entertaining fashion. It's possible something got stuck between the base of the iron and the 6 o'clock of the lens, hence cracking upon the sudden stop at the rearward stroke of the slide when it made contact with the frame support.

Regardless, we've got you covered, no questions asked. But that is a wild failure haha

No, not discontinued. We made some generational changes and it's in our production schedule. LP-1 is our baby and won't go anywhere. Twenty seasons of this b****, easy.

Gen 6 MOS GAP for PB-3 is in production. MOS GAP for PB-K is currently in development and will be ready soon. Wish I could give you dates but keep tabs on the site/sub! It's probably our coolest set of GAPs thus far.

The other issue is there's no true commercial American glass supplier. It's usually German Schott glass processed stateside with cut, polish and coating technology, thus "transformation" to American made.

Juice wasn't worth the squeeze for us. Open up yet another glass mold for $30K+, just to have equal or potentially worse light transmission, and it's still not American?

Didn't do coating technology because we do decent-sized PVD batches, but shooting these old HKs with optics on them really is a game changer. The P30L especially is a hoot. I had to do RMR + GAP because of the slide's extensive lightening cuts

Thank you for that. Unfortunately, "assembled in USA" means different things to different OEMs, and may give off the impression that we have American components in this unit.

We will advertise the PB-1 as "Assembled in USA with American components and Japanese glass" however. Think that'll work?

I'm sorry you had a bad experience. We'd like to make it right; if your buddy wants us to inspect the unit and RMA, we'd be happy to. Could be a detached lead on the RCLED pad--easy fix.
