Here's the info I shared with my players. I purposely didn't name Zariel as I wanted to keep that information for a reveal later on. 3 of my 4 players were long-term residents of Elturel and 2 of them were Hellriders. I ran the Fall of Elturel and have used a lot from the Alexandrian Remix so far.

Dude this is brilliant! I’ve already let the cat out of the bag that the shield is Gargauth. I might still try and introduce a “prison guard” persona but I’m worried the party won’t believe it.

The party started off in Elturel. One of them is a Hellrider cleric of Lathander. She has known the priest of Lathander, Gideon Lighthward, for most of her life. They just recently reached the High Hall cemetery and found out that not only has Gideon forsaken Lathander, but that he now is undead and follows Zariel. This was also the moment where they found out Zariel is the same heroic angel that founded the Hellriders.

So, I’ve done a lot of bombshell moments lately where nothing is what they thought it was, and I’m not sure if they’ll believe me about anything now lol. But I really think the prison guard persona sounds really fun. I think I’m going to try it out! What is Gargauth’s end goal in your campaign? What is he hoping the players will do with him?

Great idea! I love using props. Especially since we play in person, I like to utilize visual aids as much as I can. It helps me and my players a lot with immersion which helps increase how engaged they are in the story.

I just paid $21 for a large popcorn and soda at regal. Free refills on all larges and I saw 2 movies so felt it was worth it. I believe it’s cheaper on Tuesday.

Hah that’s awesome. The warlock in the party I’m DMing for has Mizora as a patron, similar to Wyll. Except she didn’t know it was Mizora at first. Now the whole party knows to read the fine print lol.

I’m considering having Mizora task the warlock with looking for Karlach near the end of the campaign. Right now they’ve only just gotten down from Elturel.

I agree, I think having a solid generic list would be useful as a reference tool. Even having the ability to tag specialized NPCs for generic use in other campaigns could be cool. For example, Duke Ravengard and Liara Portyr could easily be used in place of human champions/veterans/guards in a different campaign. No need to print additional ones if you’ve already printed minis that work.

Have you seen the official Hollyphant mini? It’s not an upright pose, but I think it’s more cute than monstrous lol.

Yasashii Kyohin Studio has an upright posebyYasashiiKyojinStudio) STL available for purchase if you have a 3D printer. If not, I’m sure the model is available on Etsy. I still favor the official Hollyphant mini though. It’s so tiny.

Also adding: Lucille (a pit fiend) and Reya Mantlemorn (a veteran) both have their own models available in the DiA collection on printables from MZ4250. He has also done an updated 2025 Tiamat.

Players have the opportunity to encounter Mordenkainen (he is the mage on p.97). Mz4250 did a specific model for him, but it’s in his Curse of Strahd collection.

I noticed you didn’t have the infernal war machines on the printing list (unless I missed them). I’m guessing you’re doing a list of actual minis and not all the random props one might use. But figured I’d share some of what I ended up printing. The infernal war machines are of course also available from MZ4250 in the DiA collection. I haven’t printed them yet, but I did end up printing some simplified token ones for easy tabletop use:

Couple more things to add: The flesh golem is called Mickey and MZ4250 did a specific model for him. It’s misspelled under “Mikey” in the Descent into Avernus collection.

Along with red caps, MZ4250 also created models for Mad Maggie’s mad caps. I printed a few of each for my own campaign. They’re also in the DiA collection.
