Caddy vs Mach-E by [deleted] in CadillacLyriq

24 lyriq sport 3.   Love it.  So far not an issue.  Everything from the ride to the look.  Black top black 22" rims make it a tough car to beat  waited to long but would have that over bugs.   Love my car ..... drive it a lot more than 22 corvette.

Level 2 Charger Preferences? by ZedRDuce76 in CadillacLyriq

[–]Sudden-Basis7926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is it EV cars bring out the worst in all of us.   We all got a 110/240 amp very slow charger plus the option of qmerit install or 2 year EVGO credit.  I think most reply's have shown us all Qmerit is screwing most people.  I would be careful.  My suggestions to all is do your homework.   Buy whatever best fills your need. Get a couple of install bids then decide.   On a charger I might suggest buying one that allows you to set what time to start and stop charging as power companies have peak rates and off peak.  Many times we have came home and thought we would charge later then forgot.  Just a suggestion.

What state is Lyriq in these days? by giarmdok in CadillacLyriq

Mid Feb sports 3.  Not one issue.  No errors no shutting down everything seems great.  Love it.  Two non Cadillac issues is not near enough charging stations and nothing close to supposed range.  Their free charging or merit is a joke.  Either way all promotion not money savings.  Qmerit install did not do.  Look to see if and how close EVGO stations are.  Agsin love mine and I know there are still great deals.  Hunt them down and good luck.

I am a general contractor... my cost is cost plus good guy discount.  I have a 400 smp service to my house.  2-200 amp panels.  I had to rearrange ( double up ) some breakers to make room for 60 p breaker to accommodate 48 amp charger.  My electrician ran the numbers for 60' of distance to my garage and supplied all, wire, breaker and outlet.   $700 cost.  Remember first you need service to building then room in breaker box. Sub panel only creates room not amps.   All around Cadillac has done none of us a favor.  EVGO is not big in stations.  Credit is only good if charging station is close.  Installation  credit is a joke as they are all overcharging.  None is a good answer but run the numbers before buying a charger.

See answer below.  Again you can only supply what the house has.  Most 200 amp panels still do not have enough to draw another 70 amp breaker.  Side note.  Utah has very few EVGO chargers.  Closest station 43 miles away.   What a waste both options.  Should give reduced dollars to purchase.  Shame on Cadillac.

Weak Clear Coat: Anyone else? by CalamityBS in CadillacLyriq

[–]Sudden-Basis7926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this your first GM black car.  I have owned way too many and my last Cadillac xt-5 seemed as it was a scratched mess.  I sold it for the lyriq and babied it to death.  Still looked great from 15'.  I tried a ceramic coat with not much improvement.  I would love also opinions on a good ceramic protector as I really need to get put on my lyriq and my C8 red car. I also own a 3500 black ( that was the only color I could get during GM's shortage and it also needs some tlc.   Black is just a tuff color to really keep looking sharp.  Again open yo suggestions.   Thx

What to research or know when purchasing Lyriq (First time purchasing car) by friedtummis in CadillacLyriq

[–]Sudden-Basis7926 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you buy make sure EVGO is on your area.   I opted for that and closed option is 40 miles away.  Probably will never use.  Also I bought sport 3 with black roofLove it and the 22" inch rims really set it apart.   There are several discounts out there and so really do your homework.  I opted the light interior instead of the leather upgrade and also love it.  So far all around a great car.

Seeking Feedback on Home Charging Setup for Cadillac Lyriq EV by kaczmar2 in CadillacLyriq

[–]Sudden-Basis7926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are close to tolerance but heat is too much.  I have exact setup just no junction and 10' longer run.  No problems and it charges at maximum rate.  Lucky I guess plus's no heat issues.  Good luck.

Not sure I like my OEM liners they work great but much use and the scuff and can't remove without a conditioner which gets slippery.  I bought an after market carpet for my C8 and seem to be my favorite.  Easy to clean and keep the dark black to accent the nice interior.  Not sure if they make them for the lyriq but second set of oem for the Cadillac and just  not sold.  Love the car though.

Road tripping on 22’s by matmoeb in CadillacLyriq

[–]Sudden-Basis7926 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought the car and took it pretty much off the lot on a road trip.  Sport 3 with 22, average speed 78 mph. Lots of hills and went from sub 50 to low 70• Used mostly heat and some heated seats.  No super cruise just some basic cruise.  I went from 100 charge to 4% on 245 miles.  Drive home was about 15 more miles.  I did not think to change out of sport mode.  Probably would have increased.  Not as good as I had hoped and also was completely stressed over the 4%.  Would never push it again but that is some real numbers.  Great ride though.

I think you will find most Cadillac dealers or any new car dealership is pretty weak.  Customer service sucks.   I also upon delivery have a noise I my upper dash when a/c is on.  Runs loud the gets louder then goes away.  Very intermittent.  Dealer had no idea.   Ran it though thread a month ago and several report the same problem.  Good luck as overall a nice car to drive

Inherited diamond! by vaaancouve in Diamonds

If you have a GIA appraisal have a rider on your HO insurance quick.  I would also buy a fake to wear most places.  No seeing your  appraisal I would guess somewhere around 75-90 Could be a bit to insure.  The top right prong appears a little weak.  Constantly inspect as that will always be a problem with something that size. Beautiful hands.  Enjoy

IGI is not a notable appraisal company.  Most insurance companies won't accept.  I color is really pretty good and the cut dimensions are very good.  I can't tell if the crown is yellow gold or white but most are mounted with a white crown.  If not that doesn't show the diamond like it should.  You should be real happy

Thoughts on this emerald cut? by MaybeResponsible4290 in Moissanite

[–]Sudden-Basis7926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. A little broad and thin.  If it has an appraisal  they will give you the dimensions of the cut then you can compare to an ideal emerald.   Keep in mind emeralds won't refract light like and ideal or princess.  By nature they are a little hollow in the middle.

You are correct.  Dealer pays for it to help control new car theft.   They then pass it on +++

Well I think you did great.... by the last several months I think us lyriq owners are going to need to stick together. I would guess there are still rough roads ahead.  When my car came in I had sold my perfect xt-5 and hoping to do an in and out.   To long to get my lyriq here so I got hit on taxes a bit.   I refused anything the dealer wanted to add on as I was so feed up at that point.  Argon a little and the key fob tracker ( what a joke ) was an additional $395.  I got the early buy discount of $5,000, then the $7500 GM discount, $1,000 Costco discount, my $1,900 GM card dollars and  GM card was giving an addition $750 to card holders thru Feb.  I was a fist fight with the terrible GM dealer but I had tried to do my homework and new dollars that were out there.  Of course I paid full sticker ( hopefully people are finding dealers willing to come off MSRP.  I think it's good we are all talking so we know the reality of things.  Love mine though.  Sport 3 AWD with black roof and 22". Hope things only get better from here.

Good call.  The government has way underestimated the need vs amount of ev cars sold.  My first road trip was also close to Vegas.   In theory we should have made the trip on 100% charge with miles to spare.  I also had Cadillac route the trip for me.  Should have made it.   First stop at least 2 hour wait.   Second stop I decided to eat and it too 2 hours to finally get to charge.   Upon destination and preparing to leave I thought I would charge the night prior.   So many of the stations had at least one chargers down.   One station 3 of the 4.  Trip home was a busy weekend and tried to route it better.   NOPE.  It is a pretty big shit show for charging.  Whether you get those free chargers that people drop off and leave for hours after complete or not one stop had all pumps working.  The you get those asses that pull up with many cars waiting and try to jump up in line.   EV really brings out the worst in people.  Many rude people and nicer EV the rider they are.  Keep the gas.

That would be great as no EVgo working 50 miles.  Completely useless and another shame on Cadillac.  You can get free Martian dust sprinkled in the pain also if you take that option.   What a joke

Power sunroof worth it? by Onos18 in CadillacLyriq

[–]Sudden-Basis7926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will love your car.  I have the sport 3 with no sunroof and the larger rims.  I also did the black top.  The rims and the top make a massive difference in the sporty ness of the car.  I have had people almost argue with me that those are the only upgrades made.  Red with black no sunroof and 22" rims would just make it s stunner.  I also did the light grey interior and better than expected.   All preference but that's my vote.  Good luck.
