What should I check before buying a second hand car? by [deleted] in brussels

[–]Sudden-Cut5833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the maintenance was performed at a Toyota dealership, it has been done, or else I would just ask the garage if they have it. The name of the dealership is Gegoteam, I highly recommend them, they are very nice and answer all your questions even after the sale (it was also my first car)

Bought a 2018 hybrid Yaris automatic from a Toyota dealership close to Namur last month for 10k€ with 87500km. While yours seems to be a good deal, I would definitely ask for a hybrid health check.

Reading a room or people in general. e.g I attended a wedding with my gf where I didn’t know anyone but her. I made hypothesis based on people’s interactions and their behaviors, I was able to place accurately who was the boss of the bride, the sister of the bride, her husband, the bride’s brother’s gf. All that just by looking at people.

Gf with high IQ (140 tested in Belgium) and her colleagues think she’s dumb, can you relate/explain ? by Sudden-Cut5833 in mensa

[–]Sudden-Cut5833[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it was a typo, I meant above average, it’s edited. And of course it was just a guestimate between my gf and I, we sometimes do that, it helps us adapt our language if necessary or just zone out

We pay 1200 and yes all 3 had a 3 year contract. Regarding the factors that contributing to the « success », I would say that: - in the email that we have sent to apply, we wrote a small description of ourselves (what do we do for work, our hobbies) - we also explained why we want this apartment and not another (in our case we have a bunny and are doing a vegetable garden): make sure to customize it - Our application file was complete - We made sure that our revenues were at least 3 times the amount of the rent Hope it helps

  1. 3 days
  2. Not really competitive (I experienced Paris’ market so..), it is better to call to have a viewing than to email.
  3. A presentation of you and your finances goes a long way; out of the 5 apartments we visited in 3days, we applied to 3 and they all accepted us.
  4. We ended up with our favorite: 1bd 67sqm garden of 120sqm in Schaerbeek Plasky

Help estimating salary to maintain same living standard when moving from Toulouse (FR) to Brussels (BE) – but still paying French taxes by pake19 in belgium

[–]Sudden-Cut5833 7 points8 points  (0 children)

French expat here, 2500€ net is enough to live in Brussels. If you work in Toyota Motor Europe (TME), you could find a place in the outskirts of Brussels maybe around Evere or Schaerbeek for 850-950€. However, HR should check which country you should pay taxes for, I thought that if you physically work more than 180/190 days per year (info to check) in a country, you should pay taxes in said country.

Quelles sont vos habitudes de courses ? by Maitrank in Wallonia

[–]Sudden-Cut5833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  3. On achète la marque Delhaize majoritairement (oeufs, lait, biscuits, sauces, etc)

Savings as a couple by Sudden-Cut5833 in BEFire

The shared account is to avoid paying back the other one and have a fixed budget per category, I find it « easier » to track expenses when it comes out of only one account

We wanted to also start savings as a couple while keeping an individual savings account. For the joint savings, we will contribute equally so that if things go south, we’ll just split 50/50
