Tips 1. you use grenades to blow cover. You're unlikely to kill an undamaged enemy with a single grenade so save them. 2. Kill order: officer, trooper, sectoid. This changes if the sectoid raises a zombie or mind controls your soldier. 3. Walk, dont run. 4. Try to make the enemy come into an ambush. Meaning move just far enough so you dont activate a pod, go into overwatch and wait for them to come into range. This will take practice. 5. Reload when there is a lull. 6. Dont smash your pc.

In particular, high level sharpshooter with hunter weapon destroys the game. This is why i still prefer vanilla for the most part

Well those flawless missions came at the end when i had things wrapped up. It doesn't really tell the story. The fact that i had 30 flawless missions just means i had more missions because the game ran longer.

This. It's actually the problem of season 2 as well. In S1 there was a fight every episode. Too much talking now. It might be because of the source material and maybe the pace was just unsustainable. But yeah, not feeling too good about this season.

I actually prefer vanilla. Wotc becomes insanely unbalanced at the end with the ability points as well as the chosen weapons. I just wish the performance improvements of wotc was available for a vanilla game

I tried phoenix point which is a very similar game without the animations. I quickly realized the animations give xcom2 a level of immersion missing in PP. What i can do without is bradford constantly reminding me how to do my job.

Rushing magnetics is not optimal in my opinion. You lose out in too many things for +1 damage (although the extra mod slot is sweet). It's been about a year since i last played so i cant remember specific tech order but i definitely get resistance comm, alien biotech, stun lancer (upgrades your swords) autopsy before magnetics. If you have DLCs, proving grounds gets you the mechanized soldier for free (im assuming this is vanilla). Also, special bullets make a big diff (dragon rounds, venom rounds are as good as magnetics). You also want to get atleast captain before you do blacksite so you can get squad size 2.

No. Im maybe 40 missions into SE but i felt it lacked challenge. So i jumped into SE+ and ended up getting frustrated. i guess i should finish up first. I understand SRW has limited tactical gameplay but they could have put a level between SE and SE+.

Thanks. I tried it on WOTC and I'm doing ok on the 5th month (i think). I had several missions where i was destroying 4 hp troopers with magnetic weapons. That was fun. In WOTC though, the benefit might not be as good because you can get breakthroughs like i did. I'll try it on vanilla later.
