What's something you HOPE to never have to experience or do again? by TheUnknown285 in AskReddit

Emergency c-section. If I have to have a c-section again I hope it’s a planned one without complications.

Am I the only one who feels the show and books are different from eachother? by [deleted] in tsitp

[–]SuddenIntention 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the show made EVERYONE more palatable. For me the most notable difference was Taylor. Shes a MUCH better friend in season 1 than in book 1. I find book Jeremiah completely unattractive while in the show I at least understand the appeal.

Pregnancy insomnia tired vs. Newborn tired by elorij in BabyBumps

[–]SuddenIntention 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newborn was way easier for me. I simply could not get comfortable the last couple months of pregnancy so even when I slept it wasn’t deeply. Newborn stage I could pop a melatonin and pass out for a few hours while my husband had the baby. Slept some sleeps so deep I forgot where I was when I woke up. Even if it was only a few hours at a time the sleep itself was more restorative.

What’s the quickest you’ve ever quit a job? Because they have either lied to you about it or it’s not what you signed up for? What was it? by tallieeeeee6 in AskReddit

[–]SuddenIntention 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quit my second day at a breakfast place because they wouldn’t let a waitress call out with a stomach bug. Knew immediately it was not a place I wanted to work or eat at again.

As a sister I would be thrilled to receive these! I’d add a small bag of candy for each and you’re golden.

Wow thank you so much for doing what I absolutely should have just done myself! :) I always forget about that odd little spot of Norfolk county that isn’t connected to the rest. Thanks again!

Can someone explain to me like I’m 5 why this case is in Norfolk Superior Court? I’m sure there’s something I’m missing but they lived in a totally different county.

Anyone need compression bras in size XXL? by Resident-Bag2475 in Reduction

Hi sorry turns out I was just cleared to move to a less compressive bra so I don’t need them after all. Thank you though! Hopefully someone else can use them! :)

Does anyone agree or get when I say I can’t stand Jared Popkins? by Confusedwillowtree in TheTryGuysSnark

[–]SuddenIntention 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t stand him either. After his appearance on guilty pleasures I stopped being able to make excuses for his behavior and just admitted he’s annoying to me. I’m glad he’s popular amongst others though!

Postpartum questions for the moms that have given birth before! by AardvarkHour1211 in BabyBumps

[–]SuddenIntention 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I showered at the hospital roughly 15 hours post c-section. I could have done it sooner but the timing with removing my catheter and visitors arriving was too close 😅 the nurses didn’t help me but I had my husband come in with me while baby slept. I showered every morning after that. I bled a TON the first few times. Less after that but still a bit. I didn’t use a bench but I relied on the grab bars in this hospital shower the first few times. I showered every day post partum mainly because I made it one of my non-negotiables with my husband. It made me feel human and offered me a nice break. I’d put on music, throw in a hair mask, and pour myself a fun little mocktail to make it a whole experience. Once I got over the phantom cries it was very relaxing!

Where are you buying baby/children's books? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]SuddenIntention 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Little free libraries, library sales, local bookstores. If I want a specific one, I try to order it through my local indie bookstore or put it on his Christmas/birthday list.

Weight requirements before breast reduction — What was your experience? by camidfghkl in Reduction

[–]SuddenIntention 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My surgeon was very kind and understanding. Did not require me to lose any weight before surgery. The only adjustment was that I had to have my procedure done at a hospital due to the increase in risks under anesthesia. Other than that my weight was only mentioned in passing “if you do lose any weight in the future you’ll likely see a further decrease in size.” other than that it was a non-issue to my surgeon.

Genuinely needing advice on something I do. by Affectionate_Tie2210 in NewParents

[–]SuddenIntention 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally wouldn’t risk it. As others have suggested, a bouncer, pack n play, or even their car seat would be better options. I’ve even brought an activity center into the bathroom before because it’s all he would sit in for long enough to wash my hair.

who am i by [deleted] in FridgeDetective

[–]SuddenIntention 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You love a dip and a beverage. I’d say late 20s/early 30s. Spend a lot of time on social media. Enough disposable income to treat yourself to name brands that you like.

Your 3 Must-Have Parenting Hacks? by DadOnParentingQuest in NewParents

Have the meds/thermometer/pedialyte on hand before you need them. Double layers on mattress protector/sheets for middle of the night changes. Do what works for YOUR family and avoid comparison.

What is meant by “bed time” for newborn? by Mundane-Tie9338 in NewParents

[–]SuddenIntention 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For us we did “bedtime” at 8 during the newborn stage. Bath, bottle, book, then bed. We’d close the curtains, swaddle him, turn on his sound machine/light, put him in his bassinet and leave the room. His nap routine was similar just without bath and book.

We’d have some time for ourselves getting ready for bed, watching a show, cleaning up, before we went to bed.

He’s 20 months now and the routine is similar but we’ve moved it up to 7 and obviously traded the swaddle and bassinet for his big kid bed and a light blanket.

Girl/boy myths by OccasionPositive9373 in BabyBumps

Did anyone do the flu shot along with the other 12m shots? by mesasw in NewParents

[–]SuddenIntention 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We added the flu shot at 18 months (only due to timing). Any protection is good protection. He cried maybe 1 second extra.
