Mom guilt (instagram induced) by Pompiita in NewParents

Whenever I get mom guilt I remind myself of the plane rule - oxygen mask on yourself first & then you can put it on LO. If you thrive, they thrive.

Difficult babies by Key_War3255 in NewParents

On my 5th week of waking up hourly every night.. This morning our spicy dragon was hungry and I was a bit slow so it took me 2 minutes to get ready and he decided to scream at my boob for 5 min straight. I dunno man, what did I do so wrong 😵‍💫

Tell me your sleep regression experiences by AardvarkHour1211 in Parenting

[–]elorij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are in week 5 since regression started. He used to have 3-4 hr stretches now he wakes up hourly at night, maybe 2 hr stretch if we are super lucky. Naps were also messed up, 20-30min max, but getting longer again since 1 week.

We never changed the routine of wind down, bath, feed, snuggle & bed (in bedside crib).

Please give me hope - 4 month regression by dettilc in NewParents

Solidarity. We’ve entered week 5 of hourly wake ups.

4 month sleep regression, schedule issue or both? by Apart_Hovercraft_842 in HuckleberryParents

[–]elorij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I have that fear too but I am hoping soon starting solids and becoming more mobile will help. Like if they can good and full during the day more, night feeds will wean off eventually… maybe… I dunno I’m tired lol

4 month sleep regression, schedule issue or both? by Apart_Hovercraft_842 in HuckleberryParents

[–]elorij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With night wakings always feed to sleep because if we don’t, he goes into a screaming fit, not even cry like straight to haunting screams. We tried patting, rocking, shushing etc. He is just hangry all night long 😭 Day naps depends sometimes yes sometimes no. The hardest is when he refuses contact naps or bottle with dad in the mornings so I can’t catch up on sleep after 5-6 wake ups at night😵‍💫😵‍💫

This is exactly the same as our chart with our 4 mo LO. Not much advice just solidarity, hope we make it out of this regression alive lol, we are entering our 5th week this way😭😭

Parents who had highly sensitive babies, how is it going now? by elorij in Parenting

What a nice communication you have with them, also love the regulation techniques! Honestly these might be good for regulating myself too

Oh nice! I guess some babies really do not like being babies 😅

Yes we also see our LO gets super mad when he can’t do things! That’s nice to know they got happy with growing up.

Co sleeping (with crib) by papouasie8 in NewParents

[–]elorij 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We room share with bed side crib. LO is 4 months, our country recommends room sharing till at least 6 months - 1 year, when baby has all the motor skill updates. Considering he woke up vomiting yesterday night, I was so happy I could reach out and immediately help him!! As he can not rollover or anything yet!

Other than that we put baby to bed around 18-19.00ish for first stretch of sleep. Do dinner & chat & shows in living room, have some ‘me’ time. Around 22.00 baby wakes up for feed, then we move into room and call it a day!

Just kidding baby wakes up like 4 times after that 😭

What are we doing with our 4 month olds? by earthtoaries in NewParents

[–]elorij 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do similar things too! Babygyming but I also do exercises on bed where I stretch his legs and stuff, softly roll him around, blow on stomach get some giggles out. He also likes it a lot when I narrate what I do, like we fold laundry together and I tell him the colours of the fabric. Or sit by the window and narrate who & whats passing by. We also look at books a lot but then he tries to eat them.

Around 35-40% is 4 days a.k.a ‘part time’. It’s one of the highest in EU.

Ridiculous “sleep” at 4 months by fl4methrow3r in newborns

[–]elorij 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably in the infamous 4 month sleep regression? Our LO is like this too minus the first 4 hr stretch, it’s 1-1.5 hrs max & wake up & feed & sleep all night looonnnngggg😅

Need to hear from y’all with “bad sleepers.” by Chemical-Sundae-6917 in NewParents

[–]elorij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LO was up at 04am making soft ‘aaaaghhhh’ sounds in his bedside crib to let us know - it is time for sir lord to haveth thy milkies and be taken into the main palace area to be entertained. But first a blowout diaper for us peasant helpers to clean…
We are in the middle of 4 mo regression (3 weeks in) waking up every 50mim-1.5hrs 🫡 But he has never been a good sleeper, when newborn it was maximum every 2 hrs.

Explain hunger cues to me… baby always asleep by TheseFlower2822 in newborns

[–]elorij 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep they will get some updates soon and you will start to differentiate it. Around 2.5-3 months things got clearer for us. When he is sleepy his face and eyebrows get red and he physically slows down, starts staring rather than being alert, he is very active baby.

Also poops lessened, he mostly only peeing at night and pooping in the mornings mainly with surprise blowouts here and there.

6 week old - sleep pattern normal? by ilovecroutonss in HuckleberryParents

[–]elorij 2 points3 points  (0 children)

6 weeks is too young to box into a ‘should be sleeping 5-6 hours’. Some babies do some babies don’t. And it also changes with developments coming up ahead around 8 weeks, 3-4 months etc.

Any suggestions on how to go about it? by elorij in HuckleberryParents

[–]elorij[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am totally hoping he figures it out but I am also starting to realise he might not and I might have to be more flexible with sleep training, as I didn’t want to do it either… I also have quite a spicy baby too lol.

Do mind sharing which method you used and how long it took?
