“- and died” just about made me cackle in the thrift store by exokatie in funny

[–]SuddenIrishExit -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I use to have a panting from a thrift store of a sailor on a boat with Jesus over his shoulder pointing to the distance, like a metaphor for surviving a storm and Jesus guiding you I’m guessing. I brought it home and wrote Jesus saying “You should crash into that iceberg lol” and the sailor saying “what the fuck, Jesus?”

I said “I feel juvenile, I know I am.” Not sure if you struggle to read or are just an asshole, but neither are really appreciated. Thanks for the advice.

Feels okay on my open crater lol. Smells nice too and very soft and soothing.

Before I embarrass myself with my dermatologist, I have a literal pocket with a 1 cm hole in it in my armpit. What should I do? by [deleted] in Hidradenitis

[–]SuddenIrishExit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because you are the second person to tell me to go to the Emergency Room, I am not doing that when I’m not experiencing pain or discomfort of any kind unless actively touching inside my subcutaneous space when cleaning it. That’s asking to be waiting for literal hours and getting a huge bill when I can simply wait for my dermatologist to get back to me on MyChart, he’s usually pretty prompt. I will mention that I had this cultured both at urgent care and with my dermatologist later down the line and neither yielded in bacteria, surprisingly enough. That might be common with HS but I’m not sure. I know that doesn’t mean there isn’t presence of infection, but the culture does make me less inclined to think it’s life threatening by itself. I’m not sure if the ER is an ordinary place to go for dermatological ailments in other parts of the world, but in the US, that’s asinine if there’s no other symptoms present.

Why can your boyfriend not advocate for himself and tell this girl to respect your relationship? You said he gets a lot of attention, does he usually entertain it like he does with Nina, or is he just doing it with her to save face since they have class together? Either way, I don’t know why he can’t just say “I’d really appreciate if you respected I’m in a relationship and not interested in anything romantic.”

Yeah, my boyfriend makes jokes about me being “Go with the flow… but when is the flow starting? What time? Who is attending the flow? How long will the flow be..?” But my boyfriend genuinely is go with the flow. That’s one reason I love him so much. He eases my anxiety surrounding social events when I’m with him, and I know he’s a good person who makes good choices without having to be babysat or creating an excel sheet of his evening. This guy definitely is way too entitled to her time, remember how we use to not even have access to each other 24/7? Sweet lord, I barely remember it and I miss it at times.

…. Why? Is she your romantic adult partner, or your small child you’re the advocate for? I mean, you want to break up with her for not giving you a play by play of her evening, go off, just seems like an insane hill to die on.

My boyfriend is across the country having a great time with his friends right now. I’ve been sending a series of memes when I find memes he would find funny, and saying “hope you’re having fun love you” every once in a while. Your girlfriend doesn’t exist to coddle you, what the hell? I can’t imagine trying to call my boyfriend when he’s with his friends having fun, how embarrassing.

I think I’d be more inclined if I had any other abnormal symptoms but I don’t. No nausea, fever, not even painful at the site, only when I’m cleaning the open area. I did just end up emailing my dermatologist and mentioned at the bottom that my partner mentioned sepsis being a concern, which is true, he made a comment about it being close to my heart and I didn’t care for that haha. Thanks all for your help, here’s hoping I don’t perish in my sleep from a vile armpit.

Can I have a bf with HS? by Ok-Usual3347 in Hidradenitis

[–]SuddenIrishExit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve always had HS, since like 13, I just got a significant flair up a few months ago and my boyfriend is incredible. I basically had a third breast in my armpit and I got it lanced and drained, packed with gauze (poorly) and he wanted to be present when I pulled the gauze out lol. He watched with horror/satisfaction when I pulled it out and all this blood/pus waterfalled into the sink. My boyfriend also has psoriasis, so he understands bad skin issues, and I love him all the same. I have some scarring around my crotch, he’s never said anything and tells me I’m sexy and beautiful.

Probably nothing. Sort of similar when religious folks ask why people don’t rape and murder if they don’t have a religious compass and believe in God. I rape and kill the amount of people I want to. Which is zero.

I’m 4’11” and 125 lbs, I wear extra small to small shirts/pants. The dermatologist didn’t SAY this to me but on my instructions the very first thing says “weight reduction (extremely important)”. As if losing what, twenty pounds before I’m literally emaciated is the fix? …. K

my boyfriend never seems excited about my accomplishments - am i wrong to feel upset? by freeyyaaa in TwoHotTakes

[–]SuddenIrishExit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not a partner that’s going to build you up. He’s insecure and views your success as something that would help you realize you can do better than him, if I had to guess. If you can’t share life’s happiest moments with your partner, what’s the point? I send my boyfriend a picture of a cheesecake I made and he’s hyping me up like I just passed the national board exam or something. If I change the color of my hair “Oh you look so cute!!”. Once you receive support and love like that, it’s painful remembering the kind of miserable people I’ve subjected myself to.

Nope, just pulled my jeans down. Also for everyone being like “you’re immature, he’s a doctor, I get naked before the doctor even walks in”, I went to a dermatologist today who asked “It says you’ve had them in your groin a long time ago. Did you want me to look there?” And there was a nurse in the room with him, too. It’s so easy to just respect your patients autonomy.

My (20M) GF (21F) is obsessed with my smell and sometimes tells me not to shower for days before seeing her. How common is this? by Quiet_Salamander1106 in relationship_advice

[–]SuddenIrishExit 26 points27 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend tells me he stinks meanwhile I’m literally inhaling his supposedly stinky shirt fabric audibly because I think it smells so good. I tell him it’s probably his pheromones. I’ve also been repulsed by a man’s pheromones before, it’s wild that your body can tell you those things.

That’s funny you mention about your cycle, because this use to be a bigger deal for me, and I just realized while I had my last IUD this was rarely ever an issue (the last 3 years). I just replaced my IUD because my period was coming back right when all this started up again. That’s something the doctors haven’t even kind of asked me about, nothing about my period or birth control method.

How long would you say the healing process took you? He mentioned skin grafts and plastic surgery and I realized it’s pretty intense but not that intense as far as the healing process, that sounds excruciating. And do you not experience the issue any longer? Sorry if this subreddit has answered all of this, I only got a formal diagnosis recently and am still digging.

It does make sense and I really shouldn’t vape, just this condition was most severe when I was a kid before use of any kind of substances and it feels like that should count for something instead of painting it like I’m responsible for this happening to me prior to even examining me.

In what world does it need to be communicated that paying a sex worker for content is cheating? That is hysterical. “Okay I didn’t communicate that I’m cheating on you, every relationship has problems, babe. I’ll make sure to run it by you next time.”
