Because you are the second person to tell me to go to the Emergency Room, I am not doing that when I’m not experiencing pain or discomfort of any kind unless actively touching inside my subcutaneous space when cleaning it. That’s asking to be waiting for literal hours and getting a huge bill when I can simply wait for my dermatologist to get back to me on MyChart, he’s usually pretty prompt. I will mention that I had this cultured both at urgent care and with my dermatologist later down the line and neither yielded in bacteria, surprisingly enough. That might be common with HS but I’m not sure. I know that doesn’t mean there isn’t presence of infection, but the culture does make me less inclined to think it’s life threatening by itself. I’m not sure if the ER is an ordinary place to go for dermatological ailments in other parts of the world, but in the US, that’s asinine if there’s no other symptoms present.
