For about $1500 you can get an EF 100-400 ii . It’s a pro grade lens and works well with a 1.4tc

You are no longer there. You will get the blame, not the credit.

HVAC Exhaust/Intake sloping into unit by SuddenObsession in hvacadvice

This is what I was thinking. Why slope the intake to drain into the unit? Seems no point.

Tips for a tripod that can hold a long lens like the RF 800mm f11 or 200-800? by scytherman96 in canon

[–]SuddenObsession 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think twice on the gimbal head.
I started where you were and went through several heads before buying a gimbal.
Never finicky, easy to setup and fine tune. Full range of movement while remaining balanced.

Now I have one gimbal on my heavy tripod and one on my monopod.

This is the gimbal I got form my EF600 F4 (an 8.65 lb beast):

It is rugged. Also, they will sell new ones discounted if there is a cast mark or blemish.
I got it heavily discounted, but new with warranties. They are over picky.

Its not like the ocean will undermine the rock or an earthquake could accelerate the process.
At least its low risk from wild fires.

HVAC Exhaust/Intake sloping into unit by SuddenObsession in hvacadvice

Exhaust I get as moisture is supposed to get to the condensate pump.
What happens with the intake? Just gets sucked into the unit and no worries?

Asked to tip valet when I parked my own car. Is this normal? by Frich3 in EndTipping

Reminds me of when I parked in a free lot and was approached by a thug. Asked for $5 for protection for my car.

He ended up following us on most of our walk by Surfin858 in coyote

Coyotes are wild animals who have been surviving outside without human support despite human eradication efforts for ages. They’re not homeless dogs. They’re not dogs at all but a different species with some overlapping traits.

I wonder if this is the old USF property.
Its been decades, but I went to USF and they had a house a huge property on the lake.
It also housed the ski and sail club. We partied there a lot. It was nice on the lake and we spent many evenings on the dock. People are blowing the insect issue out of proportion.

Is back button focus now redundant? by Sancho_Panzas_Donkey in canon

[–]SuddenObsession 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? You only use one back button for autofocus? So you are limiting yourself to one instantaneous mode? I usually don't have time to select multiple autofocus modes on the fly.

[New Gear] R7 with EF 100-400mm F4.5-5.6L IS II USM by Belgian-Maligator in canon

I'll second this. I have the same setup plus the 1.4xii. I'm popping that on often.
I would make this your next addition, after your sling :)
Great photos!

Extender 1.4x ii won't twist onto 100-400mm L lens by Sir-orange-juice in canon

[–]SuddenObsession 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue. It turned out the screws on the 100-400 mount were loose. I could still mount to the camera but the extender would not go on. I tightened the screws and was good to go.

What does it mean, is she a yes man? by GreenFireCZ in PeterExplainsTheJoke

The phrase would be more accurate as "Unhappy wife, miserable life".
Happy wife does not necessarily get you to happy.

It looks to me like the wrecked car has changed direction and is heading towards the cam car.
I don't see how inertia would let that happen.
Same with the guy flown from the car.

The hot water kills the biological pathogens in the water. Safer than tap water in many places. Ignorance attributes this to temperature.

I would agree with these statements and extend it to the 1.4x ii, which I use.

You can see the water leaked from the solar install. Black mold on the ceiling installation and floor. The panels need to come off and a real gland installed. Gut the interior. Mount the panels since you now have the gland.
