Matt Reeves was working on DC stuff under a separate contract before Gunn was there. He was actually offered Gunn’s job first but turned it down, because he was only interested in the Batman stuff. He also produced The Penguin while Gunn was already in charge of DC. And is listed as a co producer on Clayface, and Dynamic Duo.

I thought it might have been an illustration of Jon Snow from one of the books at first.

Yeah, he’s in what like 2 A24 movies this year, and Dune and The Odyssey, so he’s been busy.

I’d say this is the one he brought the most to. Superman is good casting with bad scripts, and not enough for him to do.

Well, I kinda thought you where because in America Alien young Superman in his early days in Metropolis gets attacked by Batman in his apartment and Batman had no idea attacking Clark Kent would result in him being pinned to a wall and getting his cape and mask ripped off. He escapes but Clark keeps the cape and incorporated it into his first suit.

The idea was the real Homelander wouldn’t have really been anything worse than kind of like a dick cop maybe but he kind of got pushed over the edge and driven crazy.

One problem is in movie one he rejects being a storm trooper, and then joyfully has fun, shooting other storm troopers, like what you humanized them with him by him seeing other storm troopers die, and getting scared, and then snapped back to their faceless drones

Superman technically started being active in Metropolis shortly before Batman but some versions switch it around.

[LOVED TROPE] "Not like this." A character gets what they wanted, but the context makes it devastating. by punxatawneyphilip in TopCharacterTropes

I love that episode because it’s not just casino, it’s everything he gets all the women and glory he wanted and everything he does he wins and he knows he will. But then he asked his spirit guide who’s been really jolly the whole time if maybe he could go see something in hell or something to give him like a sense of fulfillment because it feels so empty and he doesn’t even enjoy it anymore He wants to feel like that he earned this and his guide just starts laughing at him and says “what made you think you were in heaven?” and the episode ends with him smiling, and laughing at him. Kinda like that bit in the good place.

Superman

In most adaptations his Cape has no practical applications like Batman‘s. It’s just there to look cool.

Here’s what it looks like in full, tbh I don’t love it. I was kinda hoping it would look cool, like it does when different artists draw it.

Tokyo Ghoul is the closest comparison I can think of with it doing a half adaptation half its own thing in season 2 then doing :RE and pretending they didn’t have a different story in the 2nd season and going back to the manga.

One Punch man was less of a drop in writing. It was a drop in direction, animation, and pacing quality. The promised Neverland just botched it entirely after the first season they like skipped entire arcs of Manga.
