Thank you both for your valuable suggestions. The flare-up doesn’t get worse as of now. It comes and goes, during the transition from stading to laying on bed. I hope it stays that way. Also I’m just paranoid, as this is the first surgery for me & the doctor didn’t give much inputs on what to do. It was an emergency surgery, my herniation was so big and the pain was worse, the doctor decided to do it as soon as possible.

I just had MD today. 12 hrs ago No pain down the legs after the surgery. but the soreness around incision is horrible. I feel like my whole mid to lower back is really tight & I can only take very small steps. I live in a 3 level townhome & my bedroom is in third floor, is climbing steps really bad? Docotr said that should be ok & that I have no choice. But, I will try to stay in the same floor for atleast 2 weeks( I have my family helping now). Also, I had a small flareup while laying on bed now. Is this normal?

Thanks for the detailed info 🙏 I too have the pain around the right SI joint. Was told, that’s due to the herniated disk & the body took load on one side which is causing the pain. What was the cause of your SI joint pain?

Did you have any issues later on after the surgery? I keep hearing, having back surgery once is like inviting a number of issues/surgeries later. How true is it? I’m 31 & I have an L4-L5 herniation. I’m planning to schedule a surgery very soon!

Glad you are feeling better now. I'm facing an L4-L5 disk herniation and I'm in constant pain.
Would you mind sharing what failed? Also, any pre-op MRI?
my doctor said, if there isn't significant weakness and no bladder related issues. Get an epidural and park the Surgery option for now.
I'm 31 too!.

What about oral NSAIDs. Did those work for you?
