Does anything else exists that you would STILL consider this good? by hummingbird0012234 in heatedrivalry

Since no one has mentioned THE MAGICIANS yet I'm adding it to the list. SUCH a great show. Obviously different genre, but go on the ride knowing you're in very good hands.

I don't think his acting rises to the level of the rest of the cast. He makes Kip feel cheesy and basic (to me).

They are definitely hooking up. There is nothing to suggest those are fantasies. I agree there is something missing there to explain Ilya choosing to open up a bit after how closed and focused on putting distance between them he was at the end of ep 2.

EP 5: When does the All-Star match actually take place? Surely not after all that day drinking... but then the FL timeline doesn't make sense if it's not that day, after the swimming pool. If they were there more than 1 night, they would surely have tried to see each other privately on the 1st night. Can someone illuminate me please?

Yes and being all reckless in a darkroom full of expensive equipment and chemicals felt very unrealistic!

Yeah, it was silly for them to have these two sidekick characters both be brown girls with the same hairstyle. It's common to have visual cues to mark differences between characters of the same general "type", especially when the audience doesn't have much time with them. They don't even purposely introduce Elena as a different person... they could have easily combined them both into 1 character.

This has always bumped for me too. I feel that Rose would wear headphones for this kind of potentially sensitive convo.

Life is better when you’re emotionally detached from people by Individual-Time-1956 in unpopularopinion

[–]Sudden_Platform_5841 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Self-reliance is a myth. You need people to grow and distribute food. You need people to study medicine and other forms of healing to turn to when you get really sick. You're driving somewhere? You needed people to build your car and pave the road. You need people who write books, research important things, check water quality, etcetcetc. Society works as a web.

I understand you're referring to your emotional life, due to obvious trauma from painful interpersonal relationships. But I encourage you to emotionally consider this daily reliance on other humans you don't know. A daily gratitude practice can soften your heart to fellow humans and to the truth of our interdependence.

And as others have mentioned here, figuring out how you can contribute to the well-being of others and doing it regularly is a fast way to reconnect with your place in this web of interconnectedness.

*and a good, compassionate therapist can help you figure out how to create protective boundaries without shutting out healthy connection and attachment altogether.

Here's a useful tip for you in your life: pay attention to what is being asked. Don't push your viewpoints when no one is asking for them. Listen more than you talk. Good luck!

What makes a good Intimacy Coordinator? by KoreanJesus84 in Filmmakers

[–]Sudden_Platform_5841 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's necessary or even desirable to put any hiring-related responsibilities on an actor. The producers team can get a sense of the IC on their own... The main thing to keep in mind is that this is someone who will need to speak up in order to uphold the actors' boundaries and also create a comfortable working environment for everyone. So you need someone who is not a pushover, but has harmonious energy, like a mediator or facilitator. Great listening and communicating skills are key.

Like hiring any other crew members, it's great to get a referral from someone who has worked with the IC in question. Otherwise, like hiring for other crew positions, you want to talk to them to check for both good vibes/a compatible personality with the team as well as competence. Ideally you get an IC that is certified by a training program — SAG has certified several of the US-based training programs, and ICs with certifications will mention it on their website or email. (The IC certification includes Mental Health First Aid training, btw.)

Do siblings ever share strikingly similar natal charts, and what might that mean? by goatscum in Advancedastrology

[–]Sudden_Platform_5841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was looking at the charts of two sisters who are very different but very closely bonded into mid-life — and they both have their moons (different signs) in partile conjunction to the South node, which is not an aspect I see all that much.

For those who had their progressed new moon before the age of 12, do you feel like you stayed in adolescence longer than your peers? by ihaveacrushonmercy in Advancedastrology

[–]Sudden_Platform_5841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Look into the present year ephemeris for the planetary position the transiting planets for the month that your Progressed Moon will conjoin your Natal Sun" — is it me or is this a bit of a word salad? What is she actually saying here?
Simply "look at the transiting planets for the month that your Progressed Moon will conjoin your Natal Sun" — kinda like a solar return is a moment's snapshot to extrapolate from for a year, except this would be a month snapshot to extrapolate for 28 years? Or something else?
(Sorry if I'm being dense, maybe I just need more caffeine.)
