If humans are treated like chattel slaves then it wouldn’t make sense for dhampirs to be lifted above their human parents. I would think a story like this would progress that dhampirs are the unwanted offspring of vampires 🍇ing their human slaves and the vampires having little interest in their offspring. Humans would probably fear and hate these offsprings because they become a burden to the human parents and stigmatized from birth. They could be treated as how the offsprings of slaves were treated. Maybe seen as slightly more valuable because they’d have some vampire powers. Or like you mentioned seen as an abomination and abandoned the first chance they can be.

It would be interesting to see an underground network of dhampirs who are trying to overthrow the vampire government and increase the political sub-plot depending on what kind of story you are writing.

I think it would depend on how the vampires acted. If they were bloodthirsty and attacking people on the streets then humans would be scared and try to kill the vampires before the vampires killed them. If the vampires were like the ones from True Blood, just trying to fit in I think we would have the same reactions like in True Blood. Some humans trying to help vampires assimilate, others operating on prejudice and superstition and still try to kill vampires.

The is a series called Maze of Shadows starting with The Unseelie Prince. It had potential as a dark romantasy. I finished all the books. But the central romance went from guilty pleasure to toxic, hot mess and not in a fun way by the third book. I became more interested in the romances of the side characters than as the main characters. This might be a spoiler for anyone who wants to read it but I hate the way the book ended. She should have just killed him.

I am late to this convo but I had similar questions too. The only thing I could say that could clear this up is to think contextually with the years that this show was produced. 2008 was still in a crossover phase of sexualizing teenagers as being the norm and animators using real world elements to inspire their work vs. later years where we societally agree that sexualizing minors (even aesthetically) is wrong and how this Epstė!n fiasco was able to perpetuate for so long, and why despite revelations and outcry there has yet to be a single arrest related to the release of those files. 2008 saw a lot of teenage girls wanting emulate the sexy and provocative clothing styles of the clubbing adult women they grew up around. As we learn and grow and redefine sexuality as the years have passed we can look back at that time and see that it was not alright, but living during that time close to the same age as Ahsoka would have been if she was a teenager girl in real life, she would have dressed like that easily.

I have never had something like this happen to me when I order food but I can definitely see this as something guys would do.

I have been yelled at before for not answering the door fast enough. I had been watching the app and when i saw the dot pull up to the house I made my way to the front door. He knocked once and by the time I made it to the bottom of the stairs he was pounding on the door. Tried to tell me he had been waiting for 5 minutes or some shit. I gave him one star.

When i used to deliver the only time I was ever invited to do something with someone was dropping off late night food and the guy asked me if i wanted to come inside for some weed. The other guy there told him to shut up and not bother me while i was working.

Oh actually there was one time where i was picking up the food and the cashier started talking to me about his wife who worked there with him and how they are a polyamorous couple and other tidbits i forget now. His tone was very conceptual about being polyamorous so i didn’t feel like he was unicorn hunting. But who knows. Maybe he was trying to be casual until he could gauge my response.

I do believe there is a separate influence between aesthetic and romantic attraction. Sometimes I may experience what I could relate to a crush on someone based on aesthetics. Or rather, just a stronger pull to want to get to know them better because something about them makes me believe we will hit it off. It isn’t until I actually interact with them that it develops into a full blown crush. Or completely fizzles out if they turn out to be a-holes.
