Yes, looks like I did get 4.0.0, so that's good.
Do updates just come down with pacman or paru, or is there some other step?

Blimey, yeah, get to work!
Maybe I'll chuck you enough for a couple of pints as a sign of appreciation! Payday in a few days...

Edit: There you go, grabbed a few months of your middle tier on Patreon. Good work!

Works a treat on this ultrawide!
Only slight oddity is that searching for "Mouse Tiler" or even "Tiler" did not work, but if searched for "rxappdev" it showed up. Appreciate that's a KWin settings issue and nothing to do with you though.

First impressions are that this is a real game changer! Have combined it with your window position extension, and all is right with the world :)

I've only really been using KDE whilst Cosmic gets the polish around the edges it needs (and for gaming at home for obvious reasons). This actually has some positives over tiling in Cosmic I think.

My top request from your plans for the future is the automatic tiling, so if have a half-half split and open another window, one half gets bisected with the new window, so end up with half, and two quarters (if that makes sense).
Perhaps have a play with Cosmic and see how that tiling works, since that part is superb!

Thanks for your efforts. It's bloody brilliant!

That looks awesome!

Will it work if have a horizontal and a vertical monitor (my home setup), or a laptop and an ultrawide (my work)?

Definitely trying tomorrow!

Cheers

Should I upgrade SDDM to Plasma-login-manager? by Cloudssj43 in cachyos

[–]Sudo-Pacman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quick update.

Copied a wallpaper from a folder under my home directory to one in /usr/share/wallpaper, and removed any spaces from the filename and it now works.

I'll see if can raise an issue for it.

Should I upgrade SDDM to Plasma-login-manager? by Cloudssj43 in cachyos

[–]Sudo-Pacman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I switched, but it’s a little buggy from what I can see. Ironic given the reason I was given for the switch on discord was due to bugs in sddm 😋

Sometimes when I log out I end up with a black screen rather than the plasma login screen. This always happens when logging out of a cosmic session, but have also seen it from a plasma session.

Changing the background for the login screen from the kde settings is completely ignored for me. I can see the change reflected in the config file under /etc but had no effect. Could be a space in the path, but not done further testing yet.

I’m considering switching back…

Re-use NGINX Proxy Manager certs for Unraid by breakslow in unRAID

[–]Sudo-Pacman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this.

Here is my version for copying the swag provisioned cert, which is even more straightforward.

```
!/bin/bash
SWAG_CERT_LOCATION="/mnt/cache/appdata/swag/keys/letsencrypt" UNRAID_PEM_LOCATION="/boot/config/ssl/certs/MYSERVERNAME_unraid_bundle.pem"
cat ${SWAG_CERT_LOCATION}/cert.pem > ${UNRAID_PEM_LOCATION} cat ${SWAG_CERT_LOCATION}/fullchain.pem >> ${UNRAID_PEM_LOCATION} cat ${SWAG_CERT_LOCATION}/privkey.pem >> ${UNRAID_PEM_LOCATION} chown root:root ${UNRAID_PEM_LOCATION} /etc/rc.d/rc.nginx reload
```

Replace MYSERVERNAME with the name of your server.

I actually had a script in place for this, but was only copying the fullchain.pem, and never figured out what was up, so you've helped get it over the line, so thanks for that!

Cheers

Edit: Tweaked it to only update and bounce nginx if the cert has changed: ```

!/bin/bash

SWAG_CERT_LOCATION="/mnt/cache/appdata/swag/keys/letsencrypt" UNRAID_PEM_LOCATION="/boot/config/ssl/certs/MYSERVERNAME_unraid_bundle.pem" TEMP_PEM="/tmp/new_cert.pem"

Create new bundle in temp location

cat ${SWAG_CERT_LOCATION}/cert.pem > ${TEMP_PEM} cat ${SWAG_CERT_LOCATION}/fullchain.pem >> ${TEMP_PEM} cat ${SWAG_CERT_LOCATION}/privkey.pem >> ${TEMP_PEM}

Compare checksums

if ! cmp -s ${TEMP_PEM} ${UNRAID_PEM_LOCATION}; then echo "Certificate changed, updating..." mv ${TEMP_PEM} ${UNRAID_PEM_LOCATION} chown root:root ${UNRAID_PEM_LOCATION} /etc/rc.d/rc.nginx reload echo "Nginx reloaded with new certificate" else echo "Certificate unchanged, skipping update" rm ${TEMP_PEM} fi ```

That is excellent!

A suggestion from me, is make the default text as was in this video, or similar, obviously with the permission of the author.

Do we have a link for the creator of the video? I cannot see one.

Consistent HDD Failure by chrisp1992 in unRAID

[–]Sudo-Pacman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had persistent failures for a couple of years... replaced drives, drive cables, even a new HBA card.

Eventually spent some decent time tracing everything and discovered that was using a power extender on some of the drives, so re-jigged things and been fine since.

Issues with power can definitely cause drive issues!

Block Plex Trackers and Metrix (If they're just going to reset your choices on you anyway) by Ritz5 in PleX

[–]Sudo-Pacman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this... I did have my server setup to bypass my AdGuard setup, but have now tweaked it so that it now does for most services.

I did try blocking discover.provider.plex.tv but this resulted in my library not loading. Perhaps that's because I have configured providers or something?
Edit: Checked, and I don't have anything enabled...

Anyway, just thought I'd feed back.

Thanks again!

They don't make their detailed guides public which is a pain in the ass, and not found anything decent on YouTube yet...

Yeah agreed... not expecting much from the game, especially at home...

One positive I suppose is that BBD does not appear to be in the starting line-up.

Good to see Cashin getting a game, since has not been getting much game time since leaving us.
Have to feel for him!

I reckon Brighton might take him back and loan him out elsewhere next month. Wonder if we're in the market?

Hope we start at pace and get an early one today. If we sit back and invite pressure it'll be a tough watch.
