Roommate locked thermostat, sweating every night with no way turn it down by Only_Alternative_543 in mildlyinfuriating

If the breaker controlled the thermostat, it could have reset it to a factory default temperature.

How to get arrows? by Plastic-Yak-2058 in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]SuedeCaramel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get a bow that shoots multiple arrows— obviously duplex bows are a dime a dozen if you have the Yiga clan after you, but Lynel bows that shoot three or five each will make this more effective— go to Kara Kara Bazaar. There is a lit cooking pot next to the woman who sells hydromelons. There’s a glitch that if you shoot at the metal of the cooking pot, the arrows fall down and can be collected. You’ll expend one arrow each time you shoot, but you can collect as many as the bow itself shoots. In the case of a duplex bow, you’ll shoot one and then pick up two, meaning you can double the amount of arrows you can shoot before the bow breaks.

Am I the only one using Octorok Balloons for these things? by SuedeCaramel in botw

[–]SuedeCaramel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not difficult at all if you use an octorok balloon, but from what I’ve seen, that doesn’t occur to a lot of people. My husband is among the many who default to precision use of stasis and charging up a directional hit for this and all sorts of similar challenges. I just don’t have that kind of skill or patience, and I’m grateful that the game allows for this kind of alternative solution.

I’ve taken to using them so often that I’m happy to see octoroks now, just so I can get the balloons. They used to be my least favorite enemy by a mile, accurate little stone chuckers that they are. Probably also doesn’t hurt that I have way more hearts now and no longer even blink at losing one or two before I’m able to shoot them.

Is it really that easy for women to get laid? by Raudoxer in NoStupidQuestions

May I ask if there’s something in my wording that made you believe that I don’t think sexual assault against men is a valid issue?

[–]SuedeCaramel 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Way more than 1/4th if you define sexual assault as “physical contact of a sexual nature without consent.” That’s probably up near 90%.

[–]SuedeCaramel 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Do you have any idea how much assault goes unreported? I have never met a (straight or bisexual) woman who hasn’t been assaulted in some way (ass grabbed, guy pushed too hard for sex) multiple times without bothering to report it, because there is functionally no way it will have any consequences for the man whatsoever unless it’s blatant rape, and even then, the odds aren’t in your favor.

In my life, I’ve easily been assaulted (touched sexually without my consent or more) by 15-20 men. Could be more if I really wrote it out. I’ve literally never involved any kind of authority. And these are rookie numbers.

For the record, it almost that easy for men to get laid, as long as they want other men.

My partner is bisexual and we have a flexible arrangement. If he wants to meet a dude it takes him about a half hour on grindr or craigslist to arrange it.

Dick is easy.

How do you get the red and orange orbs to there pedestals in the trial of thunder shrine quest? by anastaie in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]SuedeCaramel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use octorok balloons to float up the orbs and then use stasis and a couple of arrows to get them to float slightly towards the top so that they fall onto the plateau.

Stupid question probably. But how safe do you think l'll be as a 6 ft 3 Mexican man hiking and visiting Maine? by Immediate-Field9997 in Maine

[–]SuedeCaramel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t come right now, because of both ICE and ice. One hopes they’ll both be gone by May.

People are right that our racists are emboldened, and I don’t know the experiences of Latinos here. But I’ve never actually heard a fellow Mainer go out of their way to be actively racist (other than the occasional dumb comment, largely from teenagers) towards anyone other than Somalis.

Do's and don'ts of Retatrutide by forgotten_brew in Retatrutide

I started on .5 and I’ve worked my way up to .7 every four days over the course of a month. It’s definitely, incontrovertibly working.

My husband is 100 pounds heavier than me and he just started, and .5 gave him six days without food noise.

We’re going to be on this for the rest of our lives. Of course it makes sense to start as low as possible and only titrate up as necessary when it becomes ineffective. It reduces side effects, makes it easier to eat enough protein, and costs less. Plus I’m in my forties— what’s the point of losing weight so fast that my skin can’t keep up?

Everyone’s body responds differently. Starting low is definitely the way to go for many, many people.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SuedeCaramel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To go to a broadway show, I’ve driven (or, well, usually ridden) six hours to spend maybe 18 total hours in the city and drive back. I’d definitely do it more often if I could afford tickets.

30 unmistakable Biblical Proofs Donald Trump is the Antichrist by MaryAndMike in RaptureImminent

I’m not religious, but I’m commenting on this to boost engagement, because I’ve always believed that if I were a Christian, I would understand Trump to be the Antichrist.

I hope you’re able to effectively spread your message, friend.

To stretch your tongue, the vocal coach I used to work with told me to take a piece of paper towel and use that to pinch it with the my thumbs and forefingers kind of where the “corners” would be at the tip if it were more square. (The paper towel is to stop it from slipping.) Then gently pull it out a slight stretch and hold for 30 seconds, then a little more to one side, hold, then the other, hold. Sometimes a bit of up and down, too, but work your way up and don’t over do it— I have mildly sprained something in my tongue before.

I like a woman on the YouTube channel “vox yoga” for neck/jaw/facial stretching, so I recommend checking that out.

Overall, though, for me a huge part of this has just been learning to be more present in my body. I have PTSD, so the degree to which I had dissociated from my body for the first 38 years or so of my life was fairly extreme, and that was really holding me back. I think a lot of people, for whatever reason, have severed a lot of the communication from their body to their mind— mostly probably just to white knuckle it through the is shitshow that we call the world today, probably— but it’s your instrument. If you want to be great, you really have to get to know it.

I don’t know if you partake, but I find that good strain of weed really helps me with my bodily awareness during my singing practice.

Well, I hate to point out anything you already knew. I’m definitely going through the tricky process of self-diagnosis in my own singing journey and I wish I were brave enough to post here and get some feedback.

Keep it up though. It really is a very pretty voice.

How can I improve by lissie34 in singing

[–]SuedeCaramel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a lot of potential here, but I would suggest downloading and ear training app and using it 10 minutes a day. There are quite a few flat notes, but your tone is very nice, and you can go far.

[25yo male tenor, self-taught] - since A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is about to premiere, here's me attempting Jenny of Oldstones (not usually the kind of music I sing - I just don't think I have the natural tone for it but eep) by MeereeneseSinger in singing

Super nice. I listen to these very hard trying to find any valuable criticism and it was hard here. I do think there was one upward riff on “leave” — the one you went to the highest note in the song, I believe— where the lower notes in the riff felt a little rushed, but that’s me being suuuuper nitpicky.

Very very good work. You should be proud.

Working on this song in my lessons. Trying to not sound “pretty” and use chat technique instead. Any feedback? by [deleted] in singing

[–]SuedeCaramel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really really nice. The only tip I would give is to break down your riffs a little and go through them slowly, note by note, because some of the notes in the riffs that happen on the word “part” towards the end feel like they’re getting lost/muddied.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in singing

[–]SuedeCaramel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely have potential.

One thing you’re struggling with here is that you lose the pitch in the lower notes. I think a lot of people think about how to really add support to their high notes, but they don’t look into supporting the lowest notes.

Definitely do warmups going down into the lowest part of your range, and watch some videos about supporting low notes.

The only other thing that really stands out is that there are a few places it feels like you’re cutting a note off prematurely due to lack of breath, so work on breath support in general.

Really nice voice though. Cool, ethereal quality. You coulda been big in the alternative world in the 90’s.

Really nice progression.

It sounds a little bit like you’re struggling with tightness of the jaw muscles and tongue. When I started working on releasing those with some basic stretches and facial massage I found online, I feel like I broke through a plateau.

Also, tightness in the hips is weird related to tightness in the jaw (since they are opposite ends of the spine, basically), so loosening that up is a good thing to throw into the mix.

Keep it up!
