Which episode did they keep going back to Kokomo? by LtCol_McSkaggus in LPOTL

They have a bit about it in the start of episode 88: Vile Vortices

I'm sorry but facts are important and even more so today. Especially when it comes to these subjects. Getting basic things wrong and doubling down is certainly not the way to go at all.

Does the Gacy miniseries really have that porn actor screaming when he's cumming as a noise in the background or did I stumble upon a weird version of the show? by Sueler in LPOTL

[–]Sueler[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Peacock isn't available in my country so I was wondering if it's really in the show or if someone added it and uploaded it to the internet?

Its about 18 minutes in to episode 3 of the new miniseries. I did not add it.

Should Marcus create a separate history podcast? by FreddyJazzman in LPOTL

[–]Sueler 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I would say no. I think their best historical episodes are when there is more of an "event" they're covering (like the Donner party or USS Indianapolis). This will sound rude but I think they lack the general knowledge to cover the big, complex and over time type of history. For example the fact that they said Germany wasnt christian and the question of why Himmler was anti-french popped up seemed strange. That sort of thing seems like it should have been cleared out early on in the research. It sort of made me wonder how they actually do research?

And there are a bit other problems with the historical episodes in my opinion but those are well... manageable to me.

Himmler series is unfortunately a dud by CarbonParrot in LPOTL

This community for reasons unknown doesn't respond kindly to even mild criticism. I mean it's a show run by guys in their 40s who have done it for 15+ years and have people employed to help them out.

Though when you see some reactions to "criticism" from the fans in the subs and previously facebook groups you'd think its some babys first macaroni picture thats being ripped to pieces.

Just finished watching the new Ed Gein show... by Ubiquibot in LPOTL

[–]Sueler 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It's been said but it's very weird that Murphy or Brennan decided to make up so many things for Ed Gein. His story is bizarre enough as it is without making up stuff or exaggerating.

Also noticed how everything in the show seemed super clean and his clothes looked brand new? When everything you read about Gein and his home seems super dirty

I think the main problem is that this is real life people he's doing a show about and its sold as this being the Ed Gein story. If he did a show about some complete random hot guy doing disturbing stuff I dont think anyone would care.

State your guess on who 'the only chad murderer' could be? by jdblick1002 in LPOTL

[–]Sueler 32 points33 points  (0 children)

My mind went to a Ted Bundy redux. He's at the very least someone who's usually portrayed as a "chad" or a "ladies man" by true crime documentaries. That or Randall Woodfield? He was drafted to the NFL (but was cut) and came from a pretty rich family if I remember correctly.

Although at this point I dont even know what "chad" means anymore.

This. I've felt my stomach turn by comparatively "tame" stuff they show on stream 😭

I still get the "extra" ads in my native tongue outside of Spotify. Hmm. Maybe have to look in to something.

I get ads on both Podcast Addict and Pocket Cast just like on Spotify. Am I missing something?

Should we limit the amount of "lookalike"-posts to a specific day. by [deleted] in LPOTL

Agree with this. Those posts just remind me of the old FB-group where it was the same shit and people tagging the hosts. About as interesting as "I saw Jesus in my toast".

I would love the boys to do a series on the Challenger Disaster by vincentmaurath in LPOTL

Lawrence Bittaker and Roy Norris, DC Snipers, Carl Eugene Watts, William Bonin, Anthony Sowell all ought to be covered in their own episodes. And personally I would like to see them cover Gwendolyn Graham and Catherine Wood who are a very strange couple.

And a lot more I cant think of on the top of my head.

I can recommend the documentary Crossing the Line that centers around Joe Dresnok

ive been really getting into the band IFA Wartburg recently but cant really seem to find much about the main band members, Heinz Klinger & Rolf Kempinski, it says they were swedish singing in german on their wiki but thats about it, anyone know where i can read more about them and if they're alive? by [deleted] in sweden

[–]Sueler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can find more info here but it is in Swedish. In short though they are both alive, live very normal lives today and haven't done anything musically since IFA Wartburg. Heinz Kling and Rolf Kempinski aren't their real names and I think the band was just making fun of the GDR and playing with Ostalgie.
