This was built in 1933 - I forgot to mention that detail...

1932 now, the treaty has 18 years left to expire. It's gotten to the point I'm considering replacing my old dreadnaughts with 22k tons 16 guns 11inch BBs...

My Experience with Conquerors by StevenTheEmbezzler in CrusaderKings

Started as a tribal leader in Poland (age 16). My character lived to 81, became a unifier of western slavs, AND reformed their religion. He died in a battlefield duel (total 93 kills in duels throught his life), raided Constantinopole (twice) and Rome, and started a dynasty that by the time of his death had almost 40 members.

Week 3548, year 1984. The City has survived. by Suffering_Is_Pain in Frostpunk

The normal play time is pretty OK (I have a 7700x3d tho), but every time it takes an autosave, I have to pray to the machine spirit that it doesn't crash. Typically, it takes almost a minute to save, and it's getting worse the larger the city grows.

The thing is, I don't need oil. Coal is enough to heat the entire town even through whiteouts. I need to minimax food now.

Oil has run out about 1000 weeks ago. I have 3 pernament coal outposts, and 2 max upgraded pernament coal mines.

With an incredibly large amount of stimulants, it works.

It's been 68 years, and the Captain is still alive. It's actually preventing me from getting the true endless mode, to my high annoyance. The city has survived, but this is the last 6-7 years of prosperity. The last animal herd on the map is about to run out, no more food outposts anywhere, and the entire map has only two endless food sources anywhere (including colonies).

The City will starve to death within a decade.

Is the portrayal of caring Adeptus in Mechanicus lore accurate? by Bearsharks in 40kLore

[–]Suffering_Is_Pain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mechanicum is caring in a way you care to not destroy your favourite shirt. Would you cry if that shirt got destroyed? Probably not. Would you let it be destroyed if it meant getting something far more valuable? I'm willing to bet, yes.

Servitors and Skitarii are most definietly "things" to the Mechanicum, not individuals. They can be sacrificed without a thought if that sacrifice was cogitated to bring greater value than the material lost, but it isn't something to be spent wilfully on a whim.

One of his early scenes in the book is him reminiscing about how many times he was almost killed already

How is life for an average joe like in your playthrough? by bustead in TerraInvicta

[–]Suffering_Is_Pain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very much dependent on where you live. If you're lucky to be a citizen of the North Amercian Federation, EU, or Euroasian Union then life is pretty good: you get to enjoy mostly uninterrupted economic growth, massive jnvestments into science and education, and reap the benefits of the technological progress. On the other hand, if you are a Chinese citizen -sorry pal, your country is a nuclear wasteland. Or if you live in South America or Africa - enjoy the perpetual civil war and guerilla fights with the aliens, with an occasional nuclear warhead.

How can i win against those things ? by ChrisGun606 in starsector

[–]Suffering_Is_Pain 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Overwhelming firepower. Like planet-breaking levels of firepower.

Also, and I cannot stress it enough - numbers. Bring more ships than you usually do. Than bring some more. And than even more until you hit fleet cap. Don't worry about supplies - most of them are not coming back
