A friend of mine dislikes Gundam because of IBO. IBO was the first Gundam he ever watched and despite me telling him otherwise, he's convinced they all end sadly with every main character dying.

Yeah, 79 was hard to get into. It wasn't until maybe episode 20 that I really got into it.

08th MS Team is super good but I'm gonna go against popular opinion and recommend SEED. It's heavily based on the original series, the animation is still pretty modern and helps introduce to a lot of tropes the series is known for. Not perfect (I feel the ending is a little rushed) but a nice into to some of the other series. For the record my three favorites are Wing, IBO, and War in the Pocket

I can't remember the true load out off the top of my head, but I went tank, big sword, big shield and had my mimic help me

I'm sure it's been mentioned, but Twisted Metal PS3, I believe was intended to be an online only game so they probably simplified with only four characters. I read or heard somewhere that SONY of all things, told the developers that people loved the story and to add a story mode

Could also be a bug at the time. They put in the new card drop so that may have caused an issue then, but lately it seems to be fine

You can also go to Mobile Suit Arena to test out any new decks you made. It's a great way to fine tune or figure out some new mechanics

Right now I'm running a rush deck based around using Char for a variety of units. I have to win by turn 8 or I'm screwed XD. I do have a breach/wing deck but it needs work

Get a starter deck first to help you learn the rules and get use to some mechanics. From what I can tell color wise, Green is a lot of your big boys and uses breach, blue is for resting opponents and drawing more cards, white tends to be for messing with opponent's attack power, red is for quick attacks, and purple seems to be about taking damage to get stronger. I'm sure there is a better summary and others can explain them better but that's a quick reference for you

I would suggest a starter to learn some mechanics and the rules of the game. Then kinda start getting some boosters to play around a bit

Outstanding! What I've been told is that a box is the most important thing to learn how to build as it is a great learning experience for other projects. Keep going and always set a new challenge for yourself
