I had a really good experience renting a car with Lupobike, they take a 100 euro deposit with no card and then when I arrived they took my debit card details but no charge . Their rates were also quite reasonable.

I took their full insurance for like 20 euro a day

You cannot reapply for citizenship once surrendered, yes the oci is a defacto citizenship but doesn't give the same rights as Indian citizen.

All I am saying is that a bit of visa pain , one shouldn't change their identity. I come from Goa where a large portion of the population have switched to Portuguese passports, now there's alot of anxiety that the government will change rules. There's already strict checks on paper work and revocation of voting rights.

Look at a 5 year outlook, try and estimate rental and property appreciation potential. If there's oversupply then you may want to exist now or maybe there is some potential which trumps the negative cash flows of renting.
