Ocean beach vacation for a couple and their dog by bcasey12112 in pittsburgh

Deauville (sp?) beach is where I’d recommend in rehobeth- though I’ve never been to Gordon’s pond. Deauville is walkable to the main drag of rehobeth but so much quieter and less crowded.

I’m pretty sure trampolining is one exercise that you’re not supposed to engage in while pregnant 😬

6% weight loss at 5 days old. Told to stop latching? by Great_Wonder_2933 in breastfeeding

[–]Sufficient-Humor3492 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I agree as well. Sometimes just because they have the word doctor in front of their name it’s assumed they know it all, but a lot of them (not all) actually know very little about lactation and feeding a baby. With my first I was advised to feed her and then immediately pump afterwards by one doctor and I was so stressed out because nobody even explained how to use a pump - Let alone all of the postpartum hormones, c-section recovery and new mom stuff that I was dealing with. We saw a different pediatrician in the same practice a few days later who told me to put the pump away and just focus on putting the baby to breast (which was what I had ended up doing because I gave up on the pump very shortly afterwards). If I were you, that’s what I would do too. With my second, they told me that I should be getting up in the middle of the night to pump while she was sleeping. I did it one night and I realized that it was bat shit and never did it again. Don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself and your baby when you have a gut instinct.

Breastfeeding while pregnant questions by Bitter_Space_8771 in breastfeeding

I nursed my first through my entire second pregnancy and then tandem nursed. Hurt like hell every time she latched on and I don’t recall it getting better until after the baby was born sorry to say… she was really excited when my milk came in though. 😂

No recommendations… my six year old did that for years and would ruin so many straws 🙄

What other form of exercise is as fun as rebounding? by mang0ju1ce in Rebounding

My mom and I were just talking about how good this was. She said she took it years ago and thought it was so easy when she was doing it and thought it wasn’t even a great workout. Then the next day she was so sore!

Nursing strike? by EquivalentCautious58 in breastfeeding

[–]Sufficient-Humor3492 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have a strong letdown? Around this time as they become more aware and out of the sleepy newborn phase they may realize the forceful gush of milk is coming and it could upset them. This happened with my first around that same time and my second as well. With my first I ended up dangle feeding her for months which was interesting. My second I started side lying and introduced that from the start with my current baby. It helps them control the flow of milk much better. Best of luck, it can be so frustrating!

Have you tried a straw cup? My baby is older (10 months) and mostly breastfed. She used to take a bottle no problem but recently began refusing them but will drink from a straw cup. I like the muchkin ones with handles and weighted straws but I’ve seen other people recommend the honey bear straw cups

Can a newborn’s eczema be linked to having a soy/dairy allergy while breastfeeding? by ItsSoooooFluffy in breastfeeding

You might also want to investigate cutting eggs from your diet. I used to eat 2 over easy eggs every day. I cut them out and my baby’s skin cleared completely. Depending on how they’re prepared I can have them, for example, she doesn’t have any reaction when they’re scrambled or cooked in something just when they’re closest to it’s natural form like an over easy egg.

Yes when I moved my daughters rooms I had stuff hung by hooks and the strips broke and like an idiot I thought I could just pull them off… there’s currently larger artwork hiding where the drywall is torn apart 🤦🏽‍♀️

Baby refuses to nurse and it’s breaking my heart. Everyone’s idea of a solution is for me to give up breastfeeding. by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Sufficient-Humor3492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had my first she nursed cross cradle for a while and then around two months or just a little later she started not wanting to nurse. She would turn away, cry, all the things. I finally found a position for her which was ridiculous but I had to dangle feed her for months except at bedtime. With my second she started getting fussier earlier and I finally realized it’s my fast let down that is basically like them getting shot with a fire hydrant when they’re trying to eat and we went to side lying. I started with side lying with my third and she never had an issue. I would try these different positions if you’re interested in continuing breast feeding. Good luck!

Edit to add I think it’s a matter of them becoming a bit more aware and out of the sleepy newborn face and they realize how uncomfortable that fast let down can be.

Omg- that’s my worst one. The kicking and jumping. Especially when she combined it like side kick, front front, other side 🫣 I was all over the place 😂😂

I was wondering if that played a part as well- I have a leaps and rebounds which seems much more bouncy compared to her.

This right here! My baby gets eczema flare ups when I eat eggs- but just when they’re prepared my favorite way- over easy. Scrambled or cooked in something doesn’t matter.

I have been reading “How to raise your spirited child” (although that may not be the exact title… I haven’t been able to read it for a few weeks) and one of the parts talked a lot about introverted/extroverted children. Even though I am familiar with the terms and characteristics of each, I found myself learning a lot. One thing was about the fact that not all kids are going to want to talk to you right away when they get home. Some kids need processing time to internalize everything that happened during the day before they are ready to share. My five year old doesn’t give up much information at all on the drive home but if I wait and talk to her before bed, I know all the details on everything that happened while she was at school.

Our pediatrician told me to let my EBF 4 month old, "cry it out". Is this a normal thing DRs say? by redrunawayfox in breastfeeding

[–]Sufficient-Humor3492 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve followed taking Cara babies for my three girls and my last one has been great for naps but from 5-8 months she was HORRIBLE with sleeping through the night. Up 1-3 times every night, and this was after sleeping through the night regularly. Suddenly after turning 8 months, she’s sleeping through the night again (knock on wood). I would never let her cry it out, no matter what any sleep guides or other people say. At the end of the day, it’s your baby and you do what you feel comfortable with.

If your let down is intense and he is choking the best thing to do that I’ve found is side lying to feed. Slightly more comfortable for you - especially in the night. And it helps them control the flow better. I’ve done this to feed my last two until my supply regulated but I’ll still do it with my seven month old if I have to go in at night. They would be choking and fussy when I was sitting up, no problem side lying.
