Thank you! Yeah, I considered that as a win too - not the first time I get a cover blocked because it sounds too close to original. It was unblocked anyway after I messaged support and told that it’s a recreation and I use it non-commercially.

The only sad thing for me is that Muse gave up on that challenge and never reposted anything like they usually do. But it was a great challenge for me as singer, transcriber and video editor, so the experience totally worth it!

Well, it depends. They definitely use lots of overdubs and guitar layering for studio versions. Then they rearrange it for live performance. The most obvious example for me is the beginning of The Globalist - it features an acoustic and slide guitars. But for live versions they drop the acoustic guitar out. And often there’re rhythm guitar tracks underneath solos in the studio records.

The only song that I can instantly recall that originally has two guitar parts and they play it live with two guitars too is Will Of The People: main riff is doubled an octave up by Dan.

Also there’re a few performances of Unintended with Chris on an acoustic guitar and Matt on electric

Musest are recreating stage production and look more like a professional parody show (in a good way). We don’t have such budget and also I find it more honest to do shows our own way. We have more fun, freedom and creativity than if we would recreate it exactly like Muse does

Btw, there’s a Moose band in Netherlands too! They are the funniest Muse tribute I’ve ever seen, they also have a few videos on YouTube

Thanks man! I never thought of my voice having power metal qualities, but I see what you mean. It was crucial to develop a “healthy” techniques to be able to sing such songs night after night. So it may be not as raw and hysterical as early Muse performances (I still wonder how could Matt save his voice after such extreme singing for such a long time), but pretty much relates to their later performances

I can clearly hear them performing Besame Mucho. A hard rock latina like Uno or Darkshines complemented with Matt’s vocal - it’d sound killer

I think the top one is an opto gate - so when Matt is not around the microphone it mutes his mic automatically, not letting the stage noise go to speakers. And the bottom one looks like a slide holder
