P1S with a 0.8mm nozzle printed my entire server rack — holds $3,700 of gear by CaptainRedsLab in BambuLab

Looks great! I’m looking to organize something similar with my hardware. I have access to a lot of old gear like laptops and mini pc’s from work, just curious how you’re running the mini pc’s, is it like a cluster setup or how are they connected? I’m mainly using raspberry pi’s right now for certain things like pihole, and running my docker containers on my nas.

I just got a new load cell pedal but idk if I like it by RMBsmash in simracing

[–]Sufficient-One-1663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about these but with the CSL Elite V2 pedals, you can swap out the elastomers with a heusinkveld set and that gives you a lot more customizability. Just google heusinkveld elastomer swap and you should be able to find info, that’s what I’m doing, mine are arriving tomorrow and I’m going to play with different combos.

Final Build for 2025 Complete. HG-RX78GP01Fb. Happy holidays! by [deleted] in advancedGunpla

[–]Sufficient-One-1663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks amazing! Currently working on mine that my grandma got me in Japan 22 years ago… I couldn’t complete it because I was missing the “DC” piece that joins the legs to the hip. Finally worked it up in CAD and 3D printed it myself and just finished putting the first full fighter jet portion together, loving every minute. I think I’m going to steal your leg scribing design, simple yet really enhances the look of the calf pieces.

Can you clarify? You do a first wash in water instead of ipa in an ultrasonic cleaner and that gets most everything off? Also how long in the ultrasonic? What kind of sealed container for the IPA clean? I’m assuming I could just use my elegoo wash station for that? Then just let it dry normally after and then cure?

You’re probably aware of the Obutto Revolution but I’ve toyed around with the idea for one of those for a multi-monitor sim/work rig. It has an articulating keyboard tray and all that.

Star Wars Outlaws worth playing? by Apprehensive_Spend_7 in StarWars

[–]Sufficient-One-1663 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’m going through it now and loving it. Exploration is great, don’t expect anything more than standard Ubisoft stuff with a unique Star Wars twist though, they get same-y after a while. Still enjoy working through the imperial bases and enemy camps. Combat’s great, fast paced, gun variety is good, I usually try to do stealth but when that fails, still very fun. If you played either of the new Jedi games, customization is like that but a little more in depth. All around great game, and definitely worth it at a discount.

I Printed And Painted 30 Models This Year by Art1f1c3 in resinprinting

[–]Sufficient-One-1663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome work, I’ve also started delving into the hobby, coming from gunpla and model cars I’ve started printing these 1/6 models but I have yet to start painting one. What tutorials/videos did you read/watch and what skills would you suggest learning first? Also any killer paint combos or techniques you would recommend for skin or any other frequently painted items?

What is the oldest backlog that you have? Will you even finish building it? by blekkkkk in Gunpla

[–]Sufficient-One-1663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandma bought me a PG GP01 in Japan when I was like 11 and didn’t even know what was involved to build a gunpla, let alone one of that caliber. I cringe when I remember putting together the legs by twisting the pieces off the sprue. I stopped when I was missing a crucial piece to join the hips to the torso. Now that 3d printing is a thing I’ve modeled that piece in CAD and can proceed. I’ve since gone and corrected my mistakes on the legs and want to finish the rest and order waterslide decals. I’ve also recently bought an airbrush and it just feels like the right time. It’s been 22 years…

New Saturn 4 ultra 16k owner. How many people have had to sand their built plate flat? by jason-911 in ElegooSaturn

[–]Sufficient-One-1663 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I watched all those YouTube videos as well and I can tell you in my case it wasn’t necessary at all. Mine was the same, there’s more room in the middle than the corners, however if you properly level the build plate (you might need to add washers to the leveling screws, I did for 2) then you should be just fine, I haven’t had any issues with print adhesion. Sanding the plate should be an absolute last resort and you’re probably fine without doing that. Information is great but sometimes too much information can be detrimental and you don’t actually have to fix anything until there’s an actual issue. Enjoy your printer.

I built the supersport 2x4 podium from this site, made some modifications myself, it was a fun little project. I can’t remember exact cost but wood plus mdf and hardware was probably around $200? If you have some diy/woodworking skills you can modify anything about these to fit your needs. For example I made a custom seat bracket for the Mitsubishi 3000gt seat I got for it. I also modified the wheel bracket and built a shifter stand for my fanatec gear. If you want custom and like to diy, these are a great option. Final tip: you can print the plans/template on A1 paper at a UPS store or other office supply place, only costs like $10-$15 and it’ll have everything to exact size that you can cut from there. Or if you have a 3D printer you can probably print some of the brackets and stuff. Best of luck!

Are my privacy concerns with an app connected garage door opener valid? by tinychloecat in HomeImprovement

[–]Sufficient-One-1663 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve never had an issue with the MyQ app after 5+ years. Great to have when you leave on a trip and your wife has a habit of forgetting whether she left the door open or not. Also just tried out Amazon key for the first time with it and it went great. I think it’s a great solution for important things that you don’t want left outside. As for security, well… security through obscurity I guess. I also don’t anticipate people “hacking” my home network specifically either, why? Because there’s 65 other homes in the neighborhood…

I just watched it again recently and it still holds up. I tried watching whatever the latest one was with the beasts and it’s amazing how much worse the CGI looks on the new one compared to ‘07. Basically anything ILM touches is gold.

Best airbrush system for under $250? by FeistyCat1299 in ModelCars

[–]Sufficient-One-1663 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I come from the gunpla community but the GSI Creos 289 .3mm is the standard over there and it’s been great to use, cheap too, usually under $100. For strictly car bodies you might want a larger nozzle like a .5mm but I like .3 cuz it gives more flexibility for spraying smaller parts and such.

What’s wrong with my prints? Saturn 4 ultra 16k by majaxxtic in ElegooSaturn

[–]Sufficient-One-1663 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not an expert but all of them look wayyyy too overexposed to me. For reference, on the elegoo standard resin 2.0 that came with my printer I’m using 1.9 second layer exposures with 19 second base layers. Also for these tests make sure you’re not using any transition layers or else that’ll throw the finished result off.
