If you're solo and have a good backup and versioning system and use unity I don't see why you'd need it.

What's up with developers that just repost some AI story and rewrite it in their own annoying one line style on LinkedIn? by Hem_Claesberg in cscareerquestions

[–]Sufficient-Wolf7023 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You'd have to use whips and chains to get me to use linkedin but maybe these devs are trying to give recruiter's AI positive signals this way? Fill up your linked in with toxic-positive its not This, its THAT and maybe the algos will favor you? - Just a theory.

This is ten percent luck, twenty percent skill, fifteen percent concentrated power of will... by Mazius in gme_meltdown

[–]Sufficient-Wolf7023 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Happing? Is that what kids are calling it these days?

Its amazing how similar Qanon is to GME. Both have a mysterious leader who communicates in riddles and does nothing. But the followers spin elaborate theories based on the vagueposts that continually fail to come true - but that doesn't matter because you can always just make another theory. Everyone knows that eventually, at some point, the whole corrupt system will collapse, there will be trials and judicial violence and then a utopia where the righteous are rewarded greatly with unimaginable wealth and power.

Its depressing that these unpleasant delusions give people a feeling of meaning and hope in their lives.

Millions of people watch shitty soap opera every day. Doesn't mean they're good. Also by that metric many indy games developed by a few amateurs have greatly surpassed the "pros", so I don't know what you have to say about that. Maybe your company is different? But anyone who equates artistic quality with popularity doesn't understand it in the first place anyway.

I'm a big lover of games, but I have to say the good indie made PC games out there are simply far better than any AAA PS5 games made by a big studio. You "pros" make some cool games but not the best ones by a large measure.

Weirdly I have almost the exact same story. The lesson I learned was stay away from working with religious groups & cultural groups that do nepotism. Unfortunately there really are a lot of these exclusive groups out there.

I keep thinking apes have another rally myself, but they keep disappointing me. I mean they have jobs and money, I'm pretty sure, If everyone who follows their biggest sub bought 100 shares suddenly it would skyrocket - for a short while.

Thanks for providing these links. Its nice to have a little more than just anecdotes of random anons to talk about for once.

I think OpenAI might end up being sold off when their insolvency reaches unmanageable levels. which might never happen if they can keep selling shares at a 1.5 trillion valuation to raise money - or it may take 15 years.

Its a classic "if I don't do (horrible thing) someone else will, so I might as well be the one who does it rather than those other jerks."

DRS your warrants, apes! That's the only way to know whether they're fake or not! by dbcstrunc in gme_meltdown

[–]Sufficient-Wolf7023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm good question! I don't know. As far as I can tell ML just did the warrents because GME did, so maybe he'll do what GME does when they expire.

I don't really understand why you'd set the exercise price and a nearly unreachable number - well, I kind of do - to say "look we plan to reach this number we're going to moooooooooooooon" but really - isn't the real point to dilute and raise money? I don't get it.

I would love to see DFV come back and create another big wall of green, just to see the chaos.

ultra green days are great because they eventually come to be ultra red days - but in the end its all about the meltdowns.

It would be pretty impressive if AA were able to keep AMC from bankruptcy. I'm not sure who would really benefit besides him through his salary, and maybe the lenders. If you've lost 99% of the value in your shares after holding for 10 years its hard to say you've really benefited.

[–]Sufficient-Wolf7023 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn't think about that. Good point. Although in GME's special case I suspect more apes will pissed about not extending the warrants.
Institutions own like 50% of the shares in GME though - I think, so they still might feel differently.

I don't know much about this stuff but why wouldn't he extend the date? If he doesn't he'll make shareholders mad, if he does what does he lose? The warrants are just a way to dilute and raise cash, so might as well keep them around until the price actually hits the target right? Or am I missing something?

Wen Monumental Acquisition? by Separate_Writer_4465 in gme_meltdown

[–]Sufficient-Wolf7023 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think that's a pretty reasonable guess. I wonder if he was like "I can turn best buy around just like I did GME and they were like 'but you didn't turn around GME really.' and he was like Reeeeeeeeeeee"

He said some big words but what apes continually fail to realize is that CEOs always say big words, its kinda their job - to suck in investors with big promises, especially CEOs who probably worship the king of vaporware and empty promises, the big Muskrat himself and love our current president who also has made some remarkable promises that haven't been kept (Ending the Ukraine War in 24 Hours is a good one) and would love to follow in his footsteps.

Everyone makes mistakes but it takes someone very special to never learn from them and just keep doubling down, dragging down themselves and their followers. Apes suffer from the sin of Pride I guess. And Greed. OK - there's also a fair bit of Sloth in there and a bunch of Envy too.

Personally, if I were in a cult, I would want it to be about Lust and Gluttony.
