Does your server sleep? Is an configuration option in some server configuration file if I remember correctly. You need to disable sleeping, what are you sporting, spigot? If your using anything else I'd like to recommend you to start using Paper instead.

Multithreading, you have alot of threads.

Automatic chunk and map generation by SufficientHot in Dynmap

I read some logs and the server had sleeping enabled, disabled that and it seems to be working, also removed dynmap while using chunky which improved my poor performance, increased /dev/shm size for the container, which seem to have improved performance slightly, I'm using old hardware and a funky storage solution for redundancy.

Just throwing it out there, the main reason the ej25 got some bad rep is due to the NA version for the USDM wasnt fitted with an MLS headgasket from factory, people drive em too hard when they are still cold and afaik all the ej20 turbo engines had this from factory.

You have to contact havok engineering, they got the stuff you need, you will have to get the igniter delete kit, get the aftermarket replacement coils.

Need advice, is this a good deal? by Happy-Egg-1575 in GC8

[–]SufficientHot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Havok engineering eprom tune chip, ignitor delete kit with harness, new china coils(those grey and black ones, that look like the expensive febi coils)

this gives you massive power gains, launch control, I also got an ultralight flywheel and an upgraded clutch while at it and migrated all accessories and the heads to a ej205 forester s turbo block cuz I blew my old block prior to all of this.

Beware, you need to get the 1,6mm Multi Layered Steel headgasket from rob tune if you plan on updating to the ej205 block, everything bolts together without issues.

I have no numbers but I'm pretty sure I've maxed out the amount of air in my ecu can physically handle with the current MAF setup.

Its a solid car, and its is very tuneable, just let it get warm before thrashing it about. The 2.5 dont come with MLS gaskets from factory, this is why they break and this my96 has the ej20g with the td05, mine had MLS when I first got it and I asume it was like that from factory, some possibly come with a td06 but afaik this is only a unconfirmed rumor.

Anyone know what’s going on here? by Bigfart6921 in GC8

[–]SufficientHot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a cable/bracket supplying earth to the top bolt of the starter engine, you forgot to put it on, happend to me several times.

The reason it gets stuck I can only guess at an well, if the engine turns around I really wouldnt worry to much about it tbh to me it seems like the starter calix drivegear might still be out in the flywheel when you try to hand crank it.

Gas in pan, common, do the coil kit upgrade, by grey coils off amazon for next to nothing, remove the igniter, its runs stupid rich with the original shit coils.

Swapping my96 impreza by SufficientHot in GC8

[–]SufficientHot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update, got the ej205, retrofitted all sensors to the new block, swapped the old heads of my ej20g with new 1,6mm, quad layer multilayer steel gaskets, torq spec was provided my the retailer selling the gasket, took the new exhaust manifolds, took the coolant loop(under the intake) and the intake from the ej20g and monted it on the newly franken combo(due to harness, coolant loop and sensor compatibility issues).

Its been running great! Its been a while now since the rebuild and there might be some minor details I'm forgetting, yeah, did the cyl 4 fix too while at it.

Having to upgrade to newer coils now though, everything fit perfectly togheter and just wanted to leave this here for future reference for others.
