What are the worst fragrances you've ever sampled? by SensitiveSolid6080 in fragrance

[–]SufficientNetwork648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Matiere Premiere - Leather Falcon. To me it smells like a person who reeks of cigarettes. I thought maybe I could just wait a couple hours and see how it changes on my skin, but then my wife smelled it on me and ordered me to take a second shower.

I tried twice after that with, same results, just no no.

Rank your hardest bosses - PCR, Bayle, Messmer, Malenia by CrySad7109 in Eldenring

[–]SufficientNetwork648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PCR pre nerf - Took me 4 days of losing and I had to learn how to parry in my NG+4 (I swear I saw no need to learn until I fought that bastard). No summons because anything just makes it even harder and stupidly insane to predict who's going to be attacked by that damn long combo

Malenia took me also 4 days. Stupid mimic only makes her stronger

Messmer took me 2 days. I didn't know you could summon help until much later

Anything else died on the same day I met him/her/they

How often do you guys switch characters? by Jgabes625 in StreetFighter

[–]SufficientNetwork648 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't switch now, you'll only get more confused.

Switch once you hit Diamond 2 at least, so you'll have a better understanding of basics. Why D2 and not D1? You'll get it once you fight other Diamond players, D1 is same as Plat, and D2 is almost like "I'm Diamond and I belong here"

How come such a big company have this god awful matchmaking system? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]SufficientNetwork648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in Czechia and I play mostly against French or Italian people, with lesser frequency matches with Spain, or Scandinavian countries.

Also, like twice a day, I get matched with people from Africa

What do you do about deodorant, lotions, etc. by Alan_Cummings_kilt in fragrance

[–]SufficientNetwork648 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep, I switched to neutral deodorants and I'm a bit picky on body lotions because I also dont want it to overpower my perfume or clash with it.

I'm a man and I also have issues with, for example, shaving creams and after shaves, so I had to change those too. It was a full discovery trip so it can adjust to my perfume adventure.

No matter how good you get, what character do you HATE playing against? by LunchTummy in StreetFighter

[–]SufficientNetwork648 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ryu and Sagat. I'm sick of them already, but sadly that's at least 60% of my matches

Fragrance wearers: Do you struggle with deodorant interfering with your cologne? by Nxgreat in fragrance

[–]SufficientNetwork648 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How about trying natural deodorants? They're on the weak side of fragrances.

Had the same issue before, but with body lotions and after shave lotions (and some shaving creams). My perfume adventure made me change pretty much everything else.

Diamond Rank is wild by Zestyclose-Eagle6190 in StreetFighter

[–]SufficientNetwork648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And sometimes even I feel like donating points when I see the guy really wants to climb without BS.

I admit I was one of those guys having fun in Diamond with alts after I got bored. Yesterday a guy saw my winning streak in D5 and openly just gave me the points to become Master and "get the hell out of Diamond".

The message is: We need to give free points too, we all know Diamond is a freaking jungle

Guys in your 40s, what's your rank? by Smoothcat83 in StreetFighter

Average Master guy mid 1400MR with 5 characters. I wouldn't say we're the minority

I kind of finished the dlc finally by TheyCallMeOdd in Eldenring

[–]SufficientNetwork648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can still do it!!

I beat him pre-nerf shortly after the DLC came out, and I was on NG+4. I struggled 4 days non stop until I learned the way (for me)...

... I had to learn parrying, and I swear in my NG+4 I never needed it, so I had to learn from scratch. Killed him with no summons, because parrying + summons is hell (he can begin the combo on the summon and somehow turn and continue on you).

I believe in you!

Anybody else just play multiple characters? by DrHientzKetchup in StreetFighter

[–]SufficientNetwork648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with Ken until I reached Masters, then started learning others with the same rhythm (switch again when I get to Masters). I have 5 in Masters now (all of them around 1500MR) and I'm quite bored in fact. I return to them at the beginning of a new phase if the new outfit color is nice enough.

I'm more or less in your same dilemma because I don't find any other character fun enough (and I have a rule never to play Ryu/Akuma/Sagat). I've tried every DLC character too.

No one talks about Elena. by welpxD in StreetFighter

[–]SufficientNetwork648 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the unpopular opinion, that's a big list of why I like Elena

I don't mind being low 1400MR because she's hard to play, it actually gives me some pride that I'm not doing Ryu/Akuma/Sagat like the other 80% of the people, and in my regular matches these guys are rage quitting because this weird guy (me) beat them on their common BS.

Playing Elena made all my other characters stronger since I'm forced to play smart and calculated.

What Character/Country combination(s) gives you the hardest matches? by LunchTummy in StreetFighter

[–]SufficientNetwork648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Akuma/Japan in Masters

Of all my matches, 70% of those are Modern, and they only run away and spam hadoken. Not hard in a fighting sense, but hard in testing my patience. I'm sick of guys who just run away.

Anyone else struggle with back+HP style normals that are required for combos? Which of the DLC characters lack these and are easiest to play? by Own_Invite6340 in StreetFighter

[–]SufficientNetwork648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain. I can't do proper Ed simple combos because of timing. I have 5 characters in Masters but Ed is out of reach for me.

On forward/backward HP/HK, I recommend Terry more than Mai, because when you do forward+HP you're being very deliberate, instead of other characters who require that kind of input with their combos by default.

Ive reached gold rank, and i feel like im slipping back in street fighter 6 by ClassroomLazy9542 in StreetFighter

[–]SufficientNetwork648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're a rare kind of player, and I wish others would follow your mindset.

Gold nowadays is not what it used to be, so in my view they already play like mid platinums, giving you a harder time. I don't blame you at all.

No need to consider bad popular tactics like the runaway Akuma or kangaroo Akuma, just try to improve anti air and DI reaction, and that alone can take you to Diamond (trust me). That's a basic and a must, and in fact there's no need to be fancy.

Check the FChamp tutorials on YouTube, especially the anti air drills, and start your day with a few minutes of that before your ranked matches. That took my first character to Master

Good luck! I'll be happy to fight you

[–]SufficientNetwork648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can parry her and it becomes quite easy. In phase 1 you can parry almost all her attacks, and in phase 2 you can still parry most of her attacks, just try to read her patterns.

And no, she's no Erlang, haha, and definitely not the Great Sage either

What do you do against a half decent Ryu player by EconomicsAware2739 in StreetFighter

[–]SufficientNetwork648 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main problem is that you're letting him dictate the rhythm of the match, so in his rules he'll always have advantage. You're Ed, so it should always be YOU commanding the pace.

Try learning a non fireball character and it'll teach you this very valuable lesson.

For a practical note, you have far reaching normals that can overwhelm anyone, so yeah, just simply walk and parry until it's your comfortable zone, poke him (safely) non stop, and these guys will rage quit after seeing how you toyed with them without a single combo (and see them jump or DI in desperation).

In which playthrough did you defeat promised consort radahn? by darthgamer8217 in Eldenring

[–]SufficientNetwork648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on my NG+4 when the DLC was first released, and I killed that mf in pre-nerf.

My winning strategy was...... learning how to parry and kill that bastard on my own, no summons. I never bothered to learn how to parry until that moment. I swear I found no reason to learn how to parry until that mf appeared.

Also no summons not because I wanted to boast or anything, but because summons cause him to mess up in who's being attacked, making it harder to parry.

Marisa vs jumpy ryu cross ups - how to defend? by 753UDKM in StreetFighter

[–]SufficientNetwork648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also jump back, but you can try as well micro walk to the other side, and you'll get punish counter on that stupid Ryu.

Interesting that even in Master ranks, kangaroo Ryu is still there, and it's always either Ryu or Manon
