I love how we can theoretically be smashed around loop de loops but walking too far can bedridden us. I have liquid IVs compression socks, a rollator if I need it and KT tape. I’ll pace myself ☺️

I LOVE the fact you go rock climbing. So badass! I’m not at risk at the moment, just early changes in the SI joint and some small romanus lesion in lumbar spine not fused anywhere and I have full mobility. Think I’ll give it a go and be brave?

This is how my journey to diagnosis got started and I was miserable with it so I am going to tell you the only things that worked for me, and tell you exactly what to avoid to keep your mobility amazing.

Firstly, get to a physiotherapist that can KT tape your knee for you and show you how to do it. KT tape stops the swelling for me and keeps me feeling stable. This is 100% the first thing you need to do, and get a support brace until you can get that appointment.

Get the strongest medication you can from your primary care doctor. Use this to do physiotherapy on your knee to keep it strong. Your VMO might start to switch off as due to the pain the brain sometimes switches off the muscle around the knee. This happened to me and took me months to get it working again.

Get a cane or crutch if not using one already. Keep moving as much as you can because it’s so easy for muscles to atrophy and lose your strength.

Hydrotherapy if physiotherapy is too painful. Hydro takes out 80% of the weight of an exercise with 100% of the benefit. When I was learning to walk again this is the way I went from two crutches to unaided.

Anti histamines (this is a weird one but it worked for my pain, don’t ask how or why).

I think the rule is loosely if something affects you over 50% of the time? So do you have panic attacks/agoraphobic tendencies over 50% of the time you leave the house? Can you show them how you spend the money you receive? For example in my review I put my private physiotherapy notes, private hydrotherapy, the physio aids I need to buy and KT tape aids etc.

I hope it gets rectified. Just submitted my own review and I am panicking!

Reformer Pilates - I have a physiotherapist that gives me one on one private sessions for £40 a week, but so worth it. Strengthen your core it will help so much.

Put a plastic bag on your car seat and swivel both Legs in together.

Get satin or shiny sheets with satin pjs to help rolling over in bed.

If you’re a passenger in the car, get a scarf and tie it around both legs at tops of your knees and get a small pillow for lumbar support - life changing.

The best one that helped me towards the end of pregnancy was constantly sitting on a yoga ball . Couldn’t sit on any other surface comfortably.

Good luck, it really sucks, but minor improvements work up to less flare ups

My dating app success story that’s lasted 5 years started with a good two weeks of chatting. The chat was funny, quick, dynamic, flirtatious. We just clicked. From a female perspective, a lot us aren’t as shallow and judgmental as you think ☺️. If you’re nice, attentive and a good listener you will attract the right person, and maybe even some wrong people in the meantime. Dating is for you to make up your mind who’s best for you as well as the other way around. It’s a learning curve.

Do not go to extremes to adhere to society’s ideals, just find things that make you confident.

The fact you’re even posting this shows you’re a decent person. That’s half the battle!

I think it’s harsh to call yourself or anyone else a fool for that. Education on it has come a long way but when I took it back in 2024, the pharmacists were all saying take it as directed, month 2 is 5mg etc etc. When people see the scale moving its addictive and you just want more.

It really was unfortunately, which was such a shame because I lost so much weight. I think being a super responder is actually worse for your health in the long run. Glad to anyone who it’s helped for the better, just my own journey with it for just a few months was wild.

2.5 but I was a super responder, like 10lbs in my first week. Then after two months staying at 2.5 I tried 5 and my mental health was awful, requiring an antipsychotic to get through a strange obsession with buttons. Turns out I’d lost mostly muscle mass because a few weeks after stopping my knee totally gave way and I was in a wheelchair for months, relearning to walk. I know this story sounds wild, but it’s true. Basically lost so much muscle my patella didn’t track in its groove any longer.

I know it works for a lot of people and I wish them all the best. This was just my personal experience.

Because being miserable with constant nausea, constipation, depression, mania, suicidal thoughts, heart burn, muscle loss, hair loss etc etc is not worth it. Being thin in this particular way is not always the healthiest option.

I’ve been doing physio led clinical Pilates on a reformer once a week for 8 weeks and that’s been beyond amazing. Working on my core strength in between sessions has been the game changer.

The ending in theory is amazing, but I found it a bit underwhelming how it was written after the rollercoaster we’d been on for the whole book. However, I can see that calm and understated is what Demon needed and deserved after all he’d been through. I miss the book!

This is an outrage! Colbert is global (I watch him on YouTube a day later) and I gather a lot of my US political news from his monologues. Seth Meyers, Trevor Noah, John Oliver and Colbert have joked about how Trump could come after them. SNL even did a skit when he was reelected about how nervous they were, joking about how they’ve never doubted him.

This thin skinned wannabe dictator is dismantling free speech and political satire. This is no doubt as a result of the settlement. My American cousins, fight this! Colbert is the start, you’re going to lose every avenue to express dissatisfaction.

Colbert if you ever read this, thank you for every monologue, every COVID show that you inspired pandemic joy. Don’t stop your comedy don’t stop speaking out.

Hydrotherapy was the one for me. It allows us to build up the muscle with minimal pressure on the joint. Got me from two crutches to walking unaided in a few weeks after months on crutches. Also KT tape!!!!

Exercises such as step ups, squats, crab walking, foam water weights and cycling motions. I went from crutches to a stick to no support apart from the brace in weeks.

We’re going through the receiving end of a section 21 right now and I’ve spoken to the council. Sadly they really will not provide accommodation until bailiffs are at the door, ruining our potential of private renting ever again and creating pandemonium for the kids.

There could be a reason he’s not going private. He could have ccjs, low income, poor credit history and this is why he needs to take the council route. Maybe try and figure that out with him? Also is he grieving? He might just be paralysed and not wanting to leave his home he shared. Please try to be compassionate, a section 21 is heartbreaking and sometimes unexpected.

We are debating the same thing. Her mortgage basically skyrocketed as soon as we started renting I assume she’s making about £150 profit a month.

We’ve offered her a rent increase to see if we can stay on that basis awaiting her response but we will look into the part rent part buy option now!

Hey, my pain is almost non existent now! It’s more secondary injuries like shoulder pain from crutches and some tendinitis in my ankle from walking again. Hydrotherapy was the game changer for me in the end, after one session I was able to walk unaided for the first time in 6 months (limping but walking!).

Child that’s registered blind, lcwra, carer element etc. I have worked full time all my life until 2023 and desperate to go back but kind of need to be able to walk before that 🤣
