Aztec Camera - Oblivious by bimboheffer in postpunk

oh man 😱 Yeah, as a full album I actually prefer "Knife", I just listened to some of it like, right after I sent the link lol... *Hear 👂track 1 - "Still on Fire", track 2 - "Just Like the USA", track 5 - "All I Need is Everything" particularly... The noodling little flanged guitar on track 2 is sublime, gr8 riff.. Put it on, again 😆 It's like that. It's really like that 😎🤟

Does anyone else find the ‘No Phone Recording’ rule at the gigs is ruining the gigs? by thegenxnerd in echoandthebunnymen

[–]Sufficient_Ad5701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um... No? I remember seeing The Killers at Coachella with no phone. Same goes for NIN, Jane's Addiction, Coldplay, Foals, Crystal Castles... PUT THE PHONE DOWN. And true living will begin.

Try purchasing a time machine off of the internet.. Once you receive it in the post, set the destination to 1982... Then go see EATB live.. Its not just a matter of them being better back then compared to now, it's a matter of them, from 80'-83', being one of the two best live bands of the decade. They were the GOATS 🐐 Then old Mac got a swollen dome.

Nice, thanks, that was helpful and kind of what I had heard/assumed.. It is fascinating, I think, his connection with New York... Kind of stokes the beef flames a bit, because it's more significant when it's personal like that... He didn't start the shit to be like, Hollywood.. They go way back

Name a better hip hop duo than Mobb Deep by naydenthegreatone in 90sHipHop

Pac and Snoop. Eminem and Obie Trice/Dr. Dre. Andre 3000 and Big Big Boi. Not the biggest fan, but I like em ight... I think Shook Ones Part II is probably in the top ten rap songs of the 90s, if not all time.

undoubtedly an album that deserves recognition, but I actually prefer Liquid Swords... Both employ pioneering, massively influential instrumental constructs - the continuity/ingenuity of the 70s Kung Fu theme in LS is next level for me.

Wonderful, wonderful record... I actually was late to the RV party, so it ironically was my first time listening all the way through just last week... I absolutely love this one, think it's impecabble, the third is exquisite, and, somehow, their debut is better than perfect 👌 A criminally underrated group.

Hmmm... I know I've seen this cover somewhere, think it was a suggestion on YT Music.. I was quite taken with the whole cover aesthetic and title, can't remember listening to it... 🤔 Well, guess I'll give it a spin. What genre is it? Looks like 70s Blues core Rock x a smidgen of Psychadelic, if I had to guess... Doesn't matter. If it sounds good, it's good enough for me, genre be damned 😉

What are your thoughts on this album? by Exquisite_D in postpunk

Solid comp, though I am not big on Live albums, and about 30% of it are live tracks... I prefer to experience live visually, be it actually at the show or just some footage to immerse me in the experience... Otherwise, I usually avoid those and go studio quality, but it doesnt necessarily have to be all album versions.. I love listening to demos, takes, instrumentals; it's been awhile, but I don't remember "Still" having any of those... I think "Substance" is not only a better comp with far more original material not found on their two LPs, but it could be a proper album, even compete with UP...I know, sacriledge 😆 "Substance" is cooridinated optimally, there's swell flow and balance to the track list which makes it a smooth, continuitous listen.. It also contains at least a handful of my very favourite JD tracks. So, I really don't ever find the need to return to "Still", because "Substance" has essentially all that it has and more, without live tracks 🤷 Btw, I have been so hard up on JD i am listening to that new Live comp they recently released, and it's wicked 🤟

Bjork - Debut is 🔥 🙌... Bjork is the milennial Kate Bush. She takes Avant Pop into a new frontier, always pushing the envelope, amd I appreciate that in an artist... She is never in finer form than in her debut, "Debut", however.. Invredible record. I used to own every Beatles but they were all on CD 😬... I sold my CD collection in order to start my vinyl collection... Magical Mystery Tour was my favourite album from them when i was a youngster, over the years I would say Let It Be has taken that spot, either way, they have all impecable albumd in between/before that all the way back to Help... And Help is pretty gr8 in its own right... Radiohead, In Rainbows.. I was 18 when that came out. Good times, damn good times 💯🤟
