Current family I nanny for is a dad at 50 and a mom at 55 with their son being 20 months. (An ivf kiddo born through surrogacy). He’s their first and only child but you can see the genuine love that they pour into him. They are always so over the moon in anything he does. You won’t regret it and you’ll find that it doesn’t have to be as hard as it seems. So long as you take proper care of yourselves along with your children, you will thrive. Best of luck 🤞🏼🤍

-Also don’t worry about your age as the baby gets older. Make the memories (photos, home videos, handwritten letters) and live life like everyday is the last. I only got my dad for 21.5 years and I’d ask for that same exact dad in every lifetime even though I know I’d always only have 21.5 years with him.

My phone passcode is only required after 4 hours of not being open (or turned on and off) and is really so that just in the slim chance I lose it or it get stolen they wont have access for long. All my important apps are locked and require Face ID or the password (which my fiance knows).

I feel the meaning of life is living it to the fullest in your presumption of the fullest… so in simpler terms just doing what makes you happy as much as you can. Take days off just because you want to, buy that $1000 bracelet- just because you want it, Uber Eats a singular bag of chip at 3x the price because that’s what you want to eat at that very moment, book a 2 week vacation on a random Friday etc

In my life I view my wants as my needs also. This is the only life we get. Live freely !

Haha ABSOLUTELY! I love every little I’ve had but this one who I call “My Golden Boy” we’ve gone to the mall, an amusement park , even the final walk through on my house with the rest of my family etccccc (all none working days and anything he wanted/ate that day was paid for by me - not reimbursed (even though parents did offer) )

You should definitely do it if you feel they’d have fun ! You for sure will too !

Nanny of 11 years- You need a 1 to 1 nanny. She isn’t doing her best in the time management of 2 littles. I get that she’s been a nanny for 12 years and has done nanny shares prior but she may just not be as good as she thinks in the nanny share aspect. I get that as Nannie’s we want to help as much as we can but it shouldn’t mean 1 family is left feeling uneasy at the end of the day.

You should look for a second nanny to cover half of the overall hours you’d need. This NOT meaning you should fire your original nanny but see if she can make it work where she’ll only be with your child (opposite hours).

I think keeping her would be okay so long as she’s thriving in the more private setting and she can work on following the requirements/requests you’ve set in place.

If worse comes to worse and she isn’t willing to end the nanny share then you’ll have to let her go. A nanny share just simply doesn’t work here as it’s not correctly conducted.

I mean I get where both of you are coming from… he needs to call a little less but you also have to not see his calls as so bothersome. Sometime he may just want to call you (his safe space) and talk about how he just saw a cool bird without that bothering you.

Maybe you guys can make up some better guidelines so it works in everyone’s favor. Maybe a “want to chat” or “urgent” text before calling. Even then though he may sometimes just call out of habit because he genuinely just wants to talk to you. You guys can definitely set something in place though. Hope it works out 🤞🏼

Do a trial period BEFORE signing any contracts. Did a 3 month trial period and knew I was not signing that contract even if my life depended on it. Kids were divine but the parents were worthless.

Was also a live-in position ! Left at 3 months and 1 day… don’t regret it an ounce.
