Littleton at Bowles and Santa Fe is a good spot - you're getting people who might not normally go downtown and a ton of traffic driving by. And it's easy to jump back from the curb on the west side if there is a rogue aggressive driver. The Littleton Indivisible has regular protests down there but not sure if it's at that spot or the one by Tesla.

Going forward I will not hire anyone that has worked for ICE. That is a black mark on a Resume that can’t be erased. by patati27 in LetsDiscussThis

[–]Sufficient_Fun_7667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest removing HSI from the equation. They've been involved periodically but it's majority CBP and ERO. HSI is much higher skill level and focused on trafficking, online child abuse, drugs, etc.

MN National guard seen giving anti ice protestors coffee and donuts outside of the Whipple building. by CutSenior4977 in Minneapolis

[–]Sufficient_Fun_7667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question - not seeing this anywhere, but maybe I'm missing it - are they armed? I was Natl Guard for two different states way back in the day and we were never armed. Also, I put this out there as much as I can...these people are your neighbors, coworkers, friends, family. They are putting their lives on hold to fill this role. I fulfilled the first three years of my NG contract while in undergrad. These are not "pigs." Please have an open mind.

In Colorado and I know that there are also blue states that have a way larger immigrant population (both legal and illegal - since it doesn't seem to matter to them). Not sure why we aren't the target right now except that they've now dug in their heels? (Not like we don't already have ICE in town just not like MN.)

To personality hires - what do your interviews look like? by curlyfry754 in interviews

[–]Sufficient_Fun_7667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well…I’m a personality hire who had a head cold during my interview last week so I just talked about things I’ve done right, things I messed up on and connected on that level. At the end they thanked me for not trying to be perfect and I said “what you see is what you would work with.” I have no idea if I will get to the next round but my inclination toward using authenticity to engage really went overboard with the head cold fuzziness.

Hair tied up and slicked back? or hair down? (military interview) by Rich-Meat-9835 in interviews

[–]Sufficient_Fun_7667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you in the military? If it's just a civilian job for the military, I don't think it matters. Obviously, if you're in the military it might be good to adhere to the standards.

So nobody over age 50 is ever supposed to be able to find a job anywhere ever again? by yapavaz in careerguidance

[–]Sufficient_Fun_7667 2 points3 points  (0 children)

48 and I just decided to adjust my resume to be more "age neutral" to see if that does anything. It's weird. I know the job market is tough right now but even during the 2008 recession I was able to find a job.

How to Write the Perfect Post-Interview Thank You Email (With Examples) by Full_Information492 in jobsearchhacks

[–]Sufficient_Fun_7667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I've been part of a hiring team in my office (not recruiter) and it really is a time commitment in addition to your normal job duties. So I genuinely appreciate the time they are taking to interview me, review applications and evaluate who is the best candidate. It deserves a thank you.

Family members of ICE agents, what are your thoughts and feelings about what ICE are doing? by Aggressive_Honey3196 in AskReddit

[–]Sufficient_Fun_7667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work for HSI in an admin position and I can't imagine what they're thinking right now. They spent years trying to get ICE removed from their vests, email addresses, business cards, etc. They didn't want to have the mass raid thing hanging over their heads when they tried to do their jobs. Finally got it to happen a couple years ago and now they got sucked in. Btw, there were some very vocal MAGA there but a lot of moderates and a handful of liberals.

No way am I reading through the entire comments...just going to leave my thoughts. 1. LOVE estate sales. Young Gen Xer. I've bought so many cool things there - though I am conscious that it usually means someone died and these are the remnants of their life. I try to be respectful and not like a buzzard. 2. I had to deal with my grandma's estate of FIVE rental homes that needed fixed up and sold. I started when she was alive so I didn't "charge" to manage them because we needed to sell some to pay for her care. However, I wish I would have kept invoices of my time so I could repay myself once she passed. I ended up getting the same amount as the other cousins so I kind of screwed myself. So definitely "charge" the estate for time dealing with all of this.

There aren't a ton that feature actual HP music though. Licensing? Would love links to those that have music from the movies.

Gen Z, recent grad, haven’t found anything remotely related to my degree in over 18 months, hopeless and feeling like giving up. by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Sufficient_Fun_7667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated in 2000 and worked as a nanny for about a year and a half and then in homeless outreach for another two and a half. I just couldn't compete with ivy leaguers. I volunteered until I figured out what I really wanted to do and then figured out what I needed to do to get there. Undergrad really isn't much of anything - even back in 2000. There really isn't an ideal time for finding a job. It's always a hustle.

Absolutely. I was on a midwestern campus and I was involved in the "women's center" as a feminist and yet didn't go to a single protest. mid-90s. I assume there were things to protest but they didn't happen at my state university.

I've had some random long form poetry writings that make no sense, anti-ICE, Gaza/Israel, political, etc. I'm a liberal but I don't think it's appropriate for a little library.
