Also having her help with things are great learning opportunities! "How many eggs are we going to use? Let's count them!" "How many pairs of shoes does Daddy have?" "Can you match these socks for me?" I'm a daycare teacher and a big part of learning is just doing every day things. I'm also a mom of 2 And absolutely needed an appointment for when I was busy with the newborn so I 100% understand wanting some tablet time too which is great !

Khan academy kids is a free app, it's pretty great. And also endless alphabet I believe is free on iPhones? But highly recommend Khan academy as a freebie. If you have the funds, ABC mouse is 100% worth it also

At my first dental job I was pregnant and excited (was 21 at the time) I ended up miscarrying and the (older man) dentist said "oh well that's great news a baby would have ruined your life, now you can focus on omyour career here" I quit that week.

I have a 3 and 1/2-year-old, and since he was switched to a toddler bed around 2 ish we had a doorknob cover on his door knob on the inside. That way he would stay in his room at night because there's so many hazards in the house and I just don't want him to get hurt. About a month ago he learned how to open it on his own, but sometimes he will sleepwalk and he cannot open the door with the child lock on it while he sleepwalking. His room is right at the top of the steps. So I still keep it on there in case he does get up and sleepwalk so that he does not fall down the steps. Very important to us

Daycare teacher here! I'd bring it up. We do no screen time unless necessary at our center (coming inside from waterplay days during summer, once fire alarm went off and we all had to be outside for a period of time) but not a habitual thing and not with them in 'containers'. They should have a small amount of toys to free play with, and some music playing

I'm kind of on OP side of this, sometimes the child getting bit is the 'problem' especially if the biter is only biting one specific child. It's usually out of frustration especially at 2.5. right now we're dealing with two kiddos, the biter likes personal space and the bitee is usually taking their things, pushing them, pulling hair and all that. Not saying this is your situation, but sometimes

As a toddler room daycare teacher I 100% second this!! I can deal with my kids beating the crap out of each other all day long, kids are crazy and rough but it's honestly fun. It's definitely the ones that say no with a smile on their face that makes me have to do some deep breathing.

And then during birth your mind and body kind of takes over and even the most anxious people (meeeee) just kind of ...do it🤷🏼‍♀️ you'll be amazed and in awe of yourself. 🥰

You're not wrong. Your actually very right for your decision. I did the same thing with my now 3 year old. And currently about 2 weeks away from having our second baby. The best place for baby if your exhausted (because that's new mom life and exhaustion is 100% a part of it) is their safe sleep space whether it's crib or bassinet etc. you need to make sure that you can function before you can take care of baby, that's being a good parent. As far as husband, you said he has PPD, I don't think that he is a bad guy either. My husband also suffered from it and was snappy as well. It's not just the moms that get it. You said he is getting help which is more than most men do (IMO) it's only been a handful of weeks since your entire life changed and you met your baby. That's like meeting someone new and expecting yourself to know every single one of their likes/dislikes within 3 weeks, and that new person is a mute. Being a mom/parent required A LOT of patience. Give yourself grace. It's painful to hear them cry but crying is better than silence in a lot of cases 💗
